The one day format makes a nice change and as an intro to tournies, 3 games in 1 day is perfect. It gave all those noobs a taste for the game without much given up in terms of outlay and time.
Squeezing in 4 (or more) games might be hard on those that have travelled far and may limit the field a little.

Could always combine it with another local one dayer, to make a weekend of Blood Bowl, but two different tournies.

TOs! You do not need multiple copies of rosters. It's a waste of paper.

I think that would be a massive success... Then people have the choice of 1 or both

That way some "more methodical" or slower among us can still enjoy crumb without being put off by speedbowl but guys like myself get 2 days play for 6 hours travel....

I like it......... I like it alot :orc: :orc: :orc: :orc: :orc:

Gutted I had to work... Maybe if you wanted to do a 2 day next year you could take the now abandoned Oct slot that Spiky used to occupy. Cakebowl, the second slice. Then we'd have a SW tourney end of May & end of October (almost one every 6 months!)

Plus Gert end of July, plus Welsh Open in the approximate area in Feb.

No love for the ARBBL? :cry: (Depending on who's talking about what, Andover counts as South, SW and SE!)

I like the idea of a weekend of one day tourneys - Speedbowl + a.n.other would be great.

Currently an ex-Blood Bowl coach, most likely to be found dying to Armoured Skeletons in the frozen ruins of Felstad, or bleeding into the arena sands of Rome or burning rubber for Mars' entertainment.

Speedbowl was a one dayer I ran in June. It was strict two minute turns.

kind of reflects what a were discussing on the Exiles forum,about two different events on one weekend.

I have to say that the idea of a back to back Crumb / Speedbowl is excellent. If you can only spare one day you get a whole tournament and if like me you have a 3 hour drive to get there you can get the most out of it and have two tournaments in one weekend.

Not sure which venue was best Ringwood had a bar but was smaller than Sutton. I think if it were to prove as popular as Crumb was this year then Sutton would win for available space.

Even better you could have a crossover award between the two tournaments for the person who does the best at both events - maybe call it the GlowMoney double dong award ?.

Didn't bloody work, though, until he'd scored three.
Morg did get a consolation Td though, and 5 Casualties (on his own) in Match 1 against Jim's Pro Elves.

thanks to:
  • Hawk and scs.sam for the lift back to Newbury (ash-to-mouth story has emotionally scarred me FOREVER though :-? );
    all the crazy people who actually stopped to let me hitch-hike from chichester to Chippenham (particularly the two irish guys who asked me for sex, then when I wound them up back by telling them I was trying to get to a funeral they felt so guilty they GAVE me £20...cheers for the thrudball donation!) ;
    Glow for a tournament that in one word must be described as "LOVE";
    Vicki for all the Coffee :o ;
    Gazza for asking me if I snored, before doing a Chainsaw impression all night (do NOT share a room with this man);
    Glow's grandson for crying (bless him) and depriving me of what little sleep I could have grabbed, in the brief moments between Gazza's efforts to break the sound barrier;
    Jim and Mike for proving to me yet again Halflings CANNOt defend against Elves;
    Peter for a close match that I clinched only due to a failed GFI, unlucky mate...Morg scored BOTH my TD's!!
Got home in only 2 and a half hours with only two more lifts...simples!

Yes we will.
Though I have to say I have never tweeked my rules to push people to CAS-tastic rosters. We just like the Ultra Violence

The Schwingers is a nice idea, and while a few people did move things around in their team set up to squeeze a 'saw in, I dont think it distracted to many people. Yes I had a stabber, but only to get a Gutter Runner in the Underworld team, not for Schwinging. If you organise Crumbowl 2, The Cookie Crumble (yes, you can steal that if you like it), then keep the King Of The Schwingers awards
Image
It helps make your little event different from others.
Maybe allow EVERYONE one Secret Weapon (Stunty Teams perhaps two) so everyone has a chance to "Schwing-when-their-winning"? The fact I play halflings who have no access to Schwingable players bears no relation to this suggestion :wink:

Flings can take zara can't they? Not a chainsaw, true, but stabbing still counts.
