Great day. 3 great games against Norse skaven and chaos dwarfs. How i managed 4th I'll never know. And how i managed a +9 cas indicator with Norse i don't know either but happy with getting joint top cas with 10.

I'm pleased to say that everyone from taunton had a great time. Angryhobbit has tentatively agreed to go the acc too, so we have a convert! As tordallen was muttering about gobbos next tournamnt, i think we have two.

it was a great day, and the golden maggot was a huge success. It was great to see so many rookie coaches.

huge thanks to glowworm and to sann for the organisation and good cheer.

looking forward to next yeear!

Thanks to everyone who came., Everyone played in the spirit of the game, on 7 or 8 different occasions I heard more experienced coaches making suggestions or giving gentle reminders to thier less experienced opponents, I also saw some "Big Hitters" battling it out.

The cards seemed to work (better than weather ?? you decide) and no-one complained about a ruined game because of them.

Loads of new faces IIRc we had 15 out of 32 eligable for the "Golden Maggot" (3 or less NAF tournaments prior to Crumb) and 3 new sign-ups

And 14 different races in play (would have been 15 if id have played my Gobbo's) with no more than 4 of a particular race ( 4 undead & 4 W/Elves)

So, all in all seemed pretty balanced.

Happy with the format, may tweek the rules if I run it again next year.....

I had an f'in' ace time. Re-rolls are over-rated. Next time I'm going to dump some other stuff to get more bribes. I would have won the Schwing award if I'd done that this time. Cheers mate.

Nick

Allow fouls and crowd pushes for the Schwing, means everyone is involved.

The problem was (and if you trawl this thread you will see what i mean) that EVERYONE started looking at the SChWing award with eager eyes, I wanted a more balanced approach to games rather than "Cas your way to victory" (Go play Exciles if thats your bag, they'll be happy to accomodate you, love you AL, no offence meant) at least 1 coach built a 5 "Dirty player" & Chainsaw roster, which was of course his choice but as the idea of Crumb-Bowl was to encourage new players into the tourney scene I would have hated for one of them to get fouled out of a game and not enjoy it.......

I was happy with the way SChWing worked, not everyone wanted to be involved and that was thier choice, if everyone wanted a crack at it they could bring eligable teams same as the Stunty cup.

I'll probably stop "Spamming" in next years rulespack, altho I think there was only really 1 instance of it. SChWing wont be changing, Skills and how they are allocated may get a tweak tho'..........IF i do it all again.

I looked at the Schwing award as just something to play for because it was unlikely that I would win anything else. As a new player (to tournaments) and of, at best, mediocre ability it was something that I could get my (chainsaw) teeth into. I'm really proud to have made it to the injury roll tie-breaker. I have roster tweaks in mind to ensure that I achieve world domination in this category in the future. Also by managing a couple of draws I showed that I wasn't just playing for the Schwing at the expense of winning.

Really enjoyed myself. Cheers matey.

Yes we will.
Though I have to say I have never tweeked my rules to push people to CAS-tastic rosters. We just like the Ultra Violence

The Schwingers is a nice idea, and while a few people did move things around in their team set up to squeeze a 'saw in, I dont think it distracted to many people. Yes I had a stabber, but only to get a Gutter Runner in the Underworld team, not for Schwinging. If you organise Crumbowl 2, The Cookie Crumble (yes, you can steal that if you like it), then keep the King Of The Schwingers awards

TOs! You do not need multiple copies of rosters. It's a waste of paper.

Whats the feeling about 1 day 4 games? Im thinking that one of the attractions was the fact it was a single day, maybe slightly earlier...Say late June?
If everyone was as punctual as they where on saturday (say 0900 registration, 0930 start, or even pre-register) it could be done.

Plus there are already 3 really good 2 day tournaments in the S/W & Wales (Welsh open / Cake / Gert) which i dont want to compete with.

...and we where (and still are) all proud for you Nick!! You can have your revenge in the league!!

That was what we where aiming for, everyone gets something (Shiny) and there are different prizes on offer, IIRc 3 spot prizes went to people who didnt win a "Main" prize, the exception was poor old Rich who got the Orc Chainsaw and the spoon!!

Thinking about it though, if I had not bothered with the chainsaw and just went for all out block violence, I may have got the CAS award.

I like the 1 day format.. as you know I would make people play hard with a 4th Match up.. shorten the lunch to get another game.. consider that some of the coaches coming from up north and far east side of London.. not sure how people feel about that..

With Newport in Feb... June and July for our tournaments.. i'm not sure if it gets too crowded? even then there doesn't seem to be any idea spaces in the year..

If it was a 2 day event it might be different.. would have to sit down and talk dates.. have a word with Hawca and Liam
