The above comment needs a like button.

Another fantastic sculpt from a small manufacturer trying to put some great models in our hands. If yu dont like the models dont buy them but stop griping for gawd sake its childish and petty...

If you dont like them dont buy them, i for one will be adding the majority of Willys sculpts to my collection. His latest Norse range is quite simply the best ive seen

its a miniature for a obscure game. its not rip off at any rate.
this coming from a guy who openly admitted he sees nothing wrong with recasting if it means he can fill out his collection more cheaply...

he is indeed a very nice man. this is a guy who owns a small business that makes figures miniatures for a game most of the world does'nt know existes. and i'll tell ya something else: he's gone above and beyond in his support of our tourny dedicated to my cousin mike, who was killed in afganistan. just because he was in the spannish army and understood. believe me, hes a damn good guy.

just to clarify a few points:

1) I never said Willy wasn't a good guy. I said he was, and I quote, "way out of line here".. even good people make errors of judgement, right? I don't know the guy personally, so I deliberately avoid making any comments about him.

2) If you read through the whole 44 page thread you'll see plenty of posts by me applauding great, original sculpts and bemoaning, well, let's call them "less original" sculpts.. I have nothing against Willy or any other manufacturer (except Gaspez, but that's another story), I just don't like seeing someone else's concepts being taken. If Willy has a written consent form from Cyanide I'll retract my statement and issue a full apology of course. I'll also happily have the Mods clean up this thread.

3) I get the fact that everyone here hates GW and Cyanide. I'm not exactly fond of either of them myself, but in my opinion that doesn't condone what we are seeing here. Copies of another company's concept work as sculpts. You may find it petty and childish, but I'm pretty sure a lawyer would see it differently. I'm not racing off to GW or Cyanide to snitch. That's up to them to worry about. I'm just openly expressing my disappointment at a company who has produced some excellent minis over the last 2-3 years, now churning out minis of other people's art with no permission to do so. If ripping off Cyanide doesn't bother you, what about Andy at Heresy and Carl Critchlow with the Thrudd mini? Aren't they nice guys too? Do the rules change depending who the victim is?

4) I'll still buy the Tomb Guardians... 8)

This, every word of it.

I've no doubt that every single one of us wants indie FF manufacturers to succeed, and imho willy (along with greebo) produces the best sculpts. However, to date I'm not buying them, and I think I've made my reasons for that clearly, if not always concisely.

Thanks everybody

Sometimes my models is "less original" (Snow Troll 2) , other times "most original" (Snow Troll ) , I want good miniatures for my brand , each player can buy the preferred . I think player online vey happy with Snow troll 2 , but others persons want miniatures 100% original , I try to make all versions .
All models are inspired by "something" and created earlier , comics , films , games , others miniatures , books ... or creatures generic .

I know for a fact that I'm wrong when I say I don't care about GW's intellectual property but I just get so frustrated with GW for their lack of support. It sucks that the company that should be making models isn't and I love the fact that Willy is making money from selling great minis. I guess the difference is GW doesn't have a face. With the Thrud fiasco, Carl Critchlow is a guy, he has a face and a personality. It feels like a personal, hurtful theft in that situation, y'know?

Then again, when I'm at Sainsburys I always put through my FairTrade bananas as regular bananas at the self-checkout because I'm a complete and utter crook

Anyway, I originally wanted to sculpt something like this for my snow troll before I settled on the more slender physique so for me personally it's great to see a sculpt like this. It's a beautiful team so far but the IP issue is a little worrying.

my original post was too short and came across as a needless attack, for which I apologize. My most recent post more succinctly expresses my thoughts. I wish I had taken the time to express myself more clearly in the first place.

OK, let's put this thread back to being about Willy minis.. :D

Just got my sponsortship packet in, along with some stuff for personal use. Thanks for the deal, Willy.

The mummies are big, comparable to 2nd edition ogres. And the troll I got is 2 inches tall without a base. Those are all positive statements, of course.
