Regarding point #2 on the tiebreaker:
- You could still used team played on by just averaging the final position of the freebooters teams at the end. If for example I finished on 3W 3L and so did Reaver, my team final position of (hypothetically, because of course we will win
) 4th would then be used against his average. Reaver played six games and represented the teams that finished 1st, 2nd, 4th, 8th, 11th and 12th. (1+2+4+8+11+12)/6 = 6.33, so in this case I'd finish higher.
- The downside would be that due to them being on random teams they will likely average out to be very close to the middle of the pack, but I'm not sure what else you'd use as a measure that keeps in the spirit of what you're trying to achieve.
- It would still elevate them above the player who (hypothetically and argueably) had a great individual tournament on a weaker team who played lots of players he may have personally been better than, and it would have the reverse effect that the player who played stronger opponents in the top rounds would also finish higher.
Nothings perfect, but hats off to you being completely transparent and as fair as you possibly can. Whatever you decide I'm sure no one will have a complaint.

Attention captains! OK, I have randomly allocated the two stand-ins and the one freebooter.
Freebooter: Vmcat
Swim Team's 4th man: Barney_the_lurker
Team Special Tactic's 4th man: Hangus
Go forth and choose races!!
I have also done the team vs. team draw and will reveal this as soon as I receive all 10 race selections
Thank you Leipziger for Brutal Deluxe's race choices.
Cheers

Just want to confirm this mean i choose ANY race, regardless of any team i end up playing for?Pippy wrote:Attention captains! OK, I have randomly allocated the two stand-ins and the one freebooter.

However if things change and someone else drops out last minute i would have to choose a race in line with the team i would then be filling in with, right?
i reckon it might be an idea to bring a few teams just in case....

Hi Val
Hope you're cool with this. Did this entirely randomly.
Yeah bring whatever team you like. As a freebooter it doesn't matter.
In case you end up filling in (should there be any more drop outs) perhaps bring a second team that you'd like to play. If this does happen and duplicate races are unavoidable, then so be it.
If you could let me know what your race will be before Sunday that would be great. A second choice race would also be helpful. Cheers

Re: Monkeybowl VII ***RACE CHOICES TO ME BY 25.3.12!***
Couple of edits to the plan on page 12:
1. The random matches 1 and 2 of the captain's picks will always involve both freebooters (when freebooters are included, of course)
2. The first individual tiebreaker will always see the freebooters placed higher, as they are only able to compete for the individual prize
KEEP EM COMING!!!

Sure, as long as I'm acknowledged as the glue that holds the UK tourney scene together? This being the fourth team I'm lending for Monkey. If I don't win best painted tables are getting flipped...Ironjaw wrote:Can someone lend me an underworld team with Morg please?
