APES of WRATH - by 3DB, Zlurpcast and Impact!

THANK YOU to everyone who pledged, who commented, who even looked at the APES OF WRATH project! I am thrilled these guys are getting made! I have been working up sketches of both gorillas, with/without new arms, with/without bigger FF-type shoulder pads, and short pants!

Is it any wonder why we love Tom, Chris and Impact so much? They did so much for this project that no one knows about just to help Bryan and me get a team made that we've dreamed about for years. They did not have to do one single thing for this but chose to take time out of their busy schedules, give priceless advice, run the Kickstarter and THEN offer to pay out of their own pockets for extra gorilla arms, pads and shorts just because some ape fans wished the gorillas were more like that. I don't have the words, gentlemen. Talk about embodying the Christmas spirit of GIVING.

Once I get the new sets of gorilla sketches (don't worry, same poses, just with the extra details), I'll work up a new Gibbon. Once that is sent away and Patrick Keith has all he needs to turn my C+ sketches into A+ sculpts, I will begin my APE TATTOO! Have no fear, I am a man of my word.

Yes, there will be pics to verify. NO, it will not be on my butt.

You should get an ape like an orangutan (my favorite ape) in the same pose as this monkey: http://1.2.3.9/bmi/www.reapermini.com/g ... 3211_G.jpg But carrying a block dice. Maybe have him in his fantasy football trousers.
Or, the librarian from discworld, use the picture from the cover of unseen academicals and swap the football for a well, football.

Congrats - wasn't sure you'd make the minimum, and now you've gone and got to the point where my objections to the sketches has gone.

Look forward to seeing the finished figures, to add to my constantly expanding hill of figures that won't get painted( ).

For a laugh, we should post my "shows-no-knowledge-whatsoever-of-how-miniatures-are-made" gibbon sketch after Patrick's amazing sculpts are first shown.

So you took photos of the 3DB crew to use as inspiration?

I could see why they would be useful to the sculptor but hope not every model is in the position of picking his nose or flinging poo.

Tom just posted an update to the Kickstarter AoW page - Patrick Keith has BEGUN THE SCULPTS!!! Woo hoo! There is also a line-up of all the sketches (and the Gibbon's component parts) side-by-side for relative size and scale comparisons! Check it out!

Kickstarter site updated - skeletons for the Blocker and Blitzer are done! Once fleshed out, the arms will be removed and the new arms sculpted so we can all add the arms as we like! I can't wait to buy 4 Blitzers (and Blockers) and, based on the extra arms, make 4 totally different players!

I do think I'll leave the gorillas pants-less.

Tattoo Update - Design about 90% done, should be contacting tattoo artist in a week or two to begin my sessions. Yes, sessionS plural.

You should have a few coaches from Iowa again! I have to decide if I want to defend my Stunty Cup or try to earn the right to get smashed by Frank Bradford somewhere near the top tables.
