Ochilbowl Stirling 25/02/12

Post by purdindas »

I seen this on Facebook. Don't know the guys organising it.

Stirling Wargamers presents Ochilbowl 2012

Stirling Wargamers would like to invite up to 40 players to take part in it's inaugural Blood bowl tournament to be held at the clubs regular venue of Ochil Community Hall, Ochil Cresent, Stirling on Saturday the 25th of February 2012.

Tickets cost £12, which will include 3 games, a pizza buffet lunch and coffee and do-nuts on arrival and prize support as well.

For more information, please download a copy of the tournament pack, available here http://www.stirling-wargamers.org.uk/Ochilbowl2012.pdf or email bloodbowl@stirling-wargamers.org.uk or call Gus McCabe on 07739 903086

Well played Purdindas!

This was only launched by Gus last night on our Club website and Facebook page, Gus was going to stop by here this morning to post details.
Theres a good chance anybody who's been to any Scottish 40k/WHFB tournaments will know us - Stirling Wargamers run Rapid Fire (40k) and Storm over Stirling (fantasy) tournaments annualy and also attend many other clubs tournaments during the year.

The boys have also been actively gaming across the central belt (with occasional trips to Aberdeen and Newcastle, not to mention the occasional GTs) for many years.

Tournament should be a good day, and Im personally looking forward to getting a kicking off some new coaches - bring it on!

If anyone has any questions about the Tourny, just send me a PM.

OOPS!!

Apologies to all,

We've just realised that our maths skills are somewhat lacking...
We timed games for 16 turns X 4 minutes (64 minutes) (plus some time for setup and chat)

We now realise that we should actually have timed our games for 32 turns X 4 minutes. (128 minutes)

Pack is being ammended now to fix this. New pack will be available shortly
(will be 2.5 hours per game)

Apologies for the confusion.

Squinty

..and the new pack is available at the same link as above.

Also, a big thanks to Purdindas for posting this. I was going to do this myself, but he ninja'd me to it.

@phil78

With the new timings, the day has been reduced to 3 games. Playing 4 games at 2.5 hours per game and allowing for a small break between games and then lunch, you're looking at a finish of close to 8pm, which might be too long a day for some people.

The event details have been submitted to the NAF first thing this morning, but we had a verbal yes that it would be sanctioned.

Australians didn't steal my remaining coat so the tournament was a good one.
