Neither could make Saturday, and Shipley was in the Dungeonbowl (we thought they'd invalidated themselves by not playing all 5 games, but I guess it's not a Spiky Dungeon without an ARBBLer or two...
).

Game 4 vs gary_graham's Orcs: 2-0
Gary hadn't really played BB since the first GT in 2003 (NAF 1121), didn't have a firm grasp of the current rules, and didn't have a great roster (NoS and HMP on a thrower), and yet I really had to work for the win. My BGs failed 50% of their nega-rolls, I skulled and 1'd regularly, but after day 1, I just needed a win, so I took whatever came my way.
Game 5 vs mathias' Orcs: 3-0 (3-2)
See game 3 vs Firebreather? Reversal of this - orcs left the field regularly, those that didn't were stunned a lot. My BGs still misbehaved, but thankfully not at important times.
Game 6 vs 'Dook's Vampires: 2-1 (1-0)
Sub-titled "'Dook goes to Chumpton" - let's face it, I stole this one from Grum. Up to this point, his vamps had been very good on BL, and my BGs had been awful n nega rolls. Turn 2, Grum kills a thrall, and so it went on. At all points in the game, he'd done more damage to his own team than I had, and for most of it, he'd done more damage to himself than he'd done to me. He scored first, I had to push to equalise in T8, and even then I had to rely on a Troll to move unaided, and for a Mino to move. 2nd half, I received, and slowly made my way up field. Had to keep moving from side to side, as his bloody vamps kept getting in the way. Eventually had to go for a 1D Block in turn 7 to score, as I couldn't keep away enough (and that was only because Grum failed a rerolled Gaze to allow a 2D Frenzy Block on my ball carrier. He had 2 turns to score, put up a defence, but he couldn't make the catch roll, so a 2-1 win for me. Only failed 4 BG rolls all game, and 3 of them were rolls where the player couldn't actually effect anything.
Overall, a 3-1-2, and 10th (or 11th) place, which was a marked improvement of 21st (of 22nd) when I started the day.
For interest, I beat Moody's record of failed BG rolls, which annoyed him as well.
Orge: Failed 8 of 61. (Before anyone questions my lack of use of the Ogre, it's because he died in T3 in one game
)
Mino: Failed 23 of 69.
Troll: Failed 15 of 63.

Big thanks to Dave for the organsing cant believe its been ten years since my first tourney, Catering was excellent, very nice roast on the sunday was throughly enjoyed.
At times i may have got slighty carried away with the casualties and taken my eye off the ball, a 2-0-4 record wasnt really what i had hoped for at the start of the weekend.
Thanks to my opponets i can genuinely say everyone one of them was a pleasure to play against, Lycos, Sann, Moodygit, Darkson, Besters (despite the 2 blitzes) & Sillysod. Particular praise to Moodygit for taking the pitch clearance so well, not sure i would have if the boot
had been on the other foot.

On behalf of myself, Gary Graham and Chris Streets can I say a big thankyou to the event organisers and all our opponents. Gary and I will be back next year (Chris is emigrating so unlikely to be in UK). It was a great weekend and the food was fantastic!

Just bumping this a little, as the NAF results are still wrong for shipley_dancing_man - it shows him as drawing in game 6, but that was the Dungeon game, so shouldn't exist?
