A proposal for stream-lining Undeads....
Slow night and I'm interested in Theory Bowl.... So how bout a discussion of the implications of doing the following (i.e., treat it as a done deal and no discussion on whether of not it SHOULD be done):
Straight Undead are eliminated from the BB rosters....
Necromancers gain skeletons....
Khemri lose Tomb Guardians and gain 0-2 Mummies....
Opinions...?

Any reason to play Khemri? 0-2 mummies isn't enough.

Currently an ex-Blood Bowl coach, most likely to be found dying to Armoured Skeletons in the frozen ruins of Felstad, or bleeding into the arena sands of Rome or burning rubber for Mars' entertainment.

Pretty much this, as you don't even get inordinate amounts of high strength to offset the appalling movement and agility of Khemri. End result, Khemri get taken apart by everybody, while Necro can get a bit speedier, but a bit more fragile.Darkson wrote:Any reason to play Khemri? 0-2 mummies isn't enough.

Seems a bit messy, there is a far easier solution.
Dump Khemri, they have always been a dull roster and you can do a similar but equally poor roster using undead.
Get rid of necromantics, they don't add anything over normal undead, Golems are a poor man's mummy and if you want to use werewolves then play Norse or try to keep your TV low so you can induce Wilhelm.

Here's a thought. How about we keep Undead and get rid of your stupid Necromancers Goreman.

Dump everything, and make the Slann the only playable team.

Cheezus, Burgun... go back and read the first post....
Nobody's gonna touch anybody's precious anything.... It's 2011, the rulebook is in concrete, and nothing's going anywhere, so please indulge this being my thread on pure theory and honor the parameters....
Darkson..., yeah, you've got a point.... I was kinda hoping that two mummies would mitigate losing four guardians... but what was I thinking? I always thought 4 Guardians (as they are now) are too good... leading to mono-tactics.... Would 4 Mummies be the same kettle of fish?
Agree spubbbba that Khemri are "dull"....
(My thoughts had centered around a meandering wish that I could play Necros with Skeletons, as I like skellies and having them would possibly [haven't worked it through] give a segway from no ghouls to 2x ghouls on the roster.... The other part of the thought was the near elimination, iirc, of Undead in favor of Necros and Khemri
... of course the fanatics almost shite their pants and threatened rebellion... sound familiar? So I wondered if the positionals could be spread across the other two teams... only duplication being skellies... simply because I like them... have painted several... and don't want to play Khemri)
So, in this fictional DG world... what would happen.... Already two, or more, wouldn't find a reason to play Khemri anymore.... I would have to agree.... Necros would speed up a bit.... Perhaps, though I'd see (for me) the possible use of skellies till I could afford ghouls... since a full positional team would typically have just a three zombie line.... Just brainstorming at the moment... as I hope others will continue to do....

Surely skellies and werewolves on the same team would never work?

We're cool, Burgun....
Ok, Chris, a provocative statement.... Why won't skellies and werewolves work on the same team?

Re: A proposal for stream-lining Undeads....
Amusing.... Non-constructive... but very amusing....
3x Zombies 120
2x Skeletons 80
2x Wights 180
2x Flesh Golems 220
2x Werewolves 240
2x Rerolls
Doesn't seem that much scarier than the same lineup with 5 zombies....

For this team, Werewolves should have a 'Fetch' skill that works like Bloodlust on skeletons.
