I assume giving the gobbos block and dodge was a typo?

You're right. Supposed to be Dodge and Stunty of course. Have corrected it now.

For the record this is the roster that a lot of the TBB folks agreed on after a couple months of debate for a decent Ogre team:

Galak,

Thanks for that. I started watching this thread but gave up and hadn't been back to have a descent look. I should have done that first. But gotta say I like this combination. But gotta have a thrower for that figure though
LOL

The Blitzer is there for that. I don't think you need to call the position Thrower to use the fig. Andy Hall didn't with his team in BB Mag #6, BigD ... don't see it a forced thing with this either.

Oh and Grumble ... the idea was to make the team match the fluff, but still be fun to play ... its is CLEARLY OBVIOUS that Fanatic has abandoned the fluff about how bad this team is. So maybe the team could lose Big Guy on the player.

No i liked the fact they all had big guy, I think they should do. Just seemed a bit expensive for a reroll if only the goblins could use them, but then i suppose you wouldn't use them much anyway.

Its 4 Str 5 guys with no negatraits, and the rest of the team is str 3 with positional players. At least the Ogres have stunties to pick on. Playing Lizards you learn that a savy opponant can capitolize on your stunties in a very bad way.
McDeth wrote:depends why you think the Khemri team is overpowered. Is it because of 4 mighty Blow Mummies. if so, well how about 8 Mighty Blow Ogres, with Ag 2

Aside form my fairly cynical post on the 3rd page of this thread, my other gripe with this team is that it could be described as a super Goblin team. It just reflects a complete lack of imagination and ideas as to what should constitute an Ogre team.....

A rookie Ogre team will be something like this:-

4 Ogres 480k
7 Gobbos 280k
Apoth 50k
2 rerolls 140k
5 FF

A rookie Gobbo team is perhaps:-

2 Ogres 240k
10 Gobbos 400k
Apoth 50k
4 rerolls 240k
7 FF

Ok they are different.... but not that different. The Ogre team has more Ogres and less rerolls but its pretty similar.

Now a Gobbo team is tough to play with but they can win and a decent coach playing against a similar TR team should at least make it a close game. That means, if you add a lot more to the Gobbo roster then they will become overpowered very quickly.

An experienced Ogre team with 6 Ogres and 5 skilled Gobbos is going to be very tough. An Ogre may easily get +1 AG - great for carrying the ball. If not then 5 Ogres can bash and the 6th lob gobbos down field. This removes a weakness of the gobbo roster since if an Ogre tosses a stunty then there is only 1 Ogre bashing.

We will not be using this roster in our Table Top League nor will we be using the roster in my PBEM League, RABBL.

PS has anyone from the BBRC been involved with this?

I'm probably gonna play the Ogre team in our open league. If I finish outside the top half, I'm calling them balanced.

I'm thinking that a whole lot of piling on and there won't be many teams left in the league though.

Well, I was seriously considering investing in an Orge team, and paying a friend to paint them, but with the garbage in the Mag I wouldn't feel right in playing them.

So, GW have lost my sales, which if that's the bottom line for these uber-teams, means they've got it all wrong. But there again, I suppose there's to many kiddies out their who will love them BECAUSE their over powered.

However i will not be using the rules in the mag, now if they loose the ability to use re-rolls then thats maybe a diff matter

But those Mummies aren't going to get anymore than 4, whereas ogres could start with 6 in the line up and jump to 8, and they have the weakest neg trait. Plus dont write of AG2 as crap its still a 50 50 chance of picking up the ball, and sure hands wont be too far away from getting as a first skill. perhaps this brand of ogres shouldn't have access to General skills, just strength only

Unfortunately, if (when) I presude the other in our gaming group to play BB, we'd only play official/experimental teams, and not house ruled ones, nd I've to many teams to buy/build, without buying ones I culdn't use.
