Botch - 9th/10th July 2011 - Maelstrom, Mansfield

Post by Barney the Lurker »

Hey Guys, apologies I've left it late again. I'm running a small BB event as part of Flam On's larger Annual Tournie, Botch.

For those who do know Battle of the Chumps is Flame On's annual multi system multi list event. It is a chance for like minded gamers to get together for a weekend of gaming in a slightly more relaxed atmosphere than a standard no-holds barred tournament; something we try to reflect with the somewhat unique rules that see players gaming with several different sized teams over the course of the weekend.

This years Botch is being held at Maelstrom Games in Mansfield on 9th & 10th July 2011, and tickets have already been selling for the various systems. If this little blurb has piqued your interest then you can find the rules pack below:

BLOOD BOWL RULES PACK

TICKET SALES AND INFORMATION

You will be able to purchase tickets directly online from the UK 40K GT website (http://www.uk40kgt.co.uk) under the BotC 2011 section: LINKY LINK
(We are selling them via the aforementioned site is that it already has a working e-commerce system that we control and so saves hassle!)

Tickets will be £35 which includes entry to the event plus lunch on both days and an evening meal Saturday.

If something sells out there will be a reserves list and it may be worth putting your name on it.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Tickets will be sold on a first come first served basis, requests to reserve tickets will be ignored.
Harsh? This is because over the years some people have taken far too much advantage of my good nature. Frankly neither I, nor the other organisers, have the time to waste chasing people again, and again, and again for payment of tickets when someone else could have bought it instead.

Tickets are your property/responsibility, there are NO refunds!

If you are unable to attend Battle of the Chumps and have purchased a ticket then please inform me for registration purposes, and potentially if there are people on the reserve list I can put you in touch with them to sell your ticket on.

Otherwise once again this is you ticket, your property, your responsibility, and there are NO refunds!

Since Barney hasn't replied due to being busy with real world things I will.

It could be NAF ranked quite easily but I am afraid we can't offer NAF discount as that would be unfair to all the other players from different systems (40k and Epic) who don't get discount. And at the same time that would mean we would be making a loss on the BB tickets as BotC is totally none profit with every penny getting ploughed back into prizes and the pub quiz.

We are up to 6 players (70 entrants to the overall event), so the same as last year and with 5 prizes (specially engraved glass tankards) that gives goods odds on someone winning at least 1 (as I don't let Barney win any prizes  ). There is actually no upper limit on the number of players now (the event overall has expanded) if that helps and we can sell tickets up to an including Thursday 30th June.

Hopefully some more players will decide to enter as Barney does put a lot of hard work into BB BotC despite its low attendance.
