Block Around The Clock 28/29th May Newcastle :- Pippy wins

Post by stanrichardson »

Hey folks, just to let you know I will be hosting a 24 Hour tourney starting on the 28th May 2011.

YES that’s 11 games over 24 hours at TV110.

I have planned a very special venue near Newcastle City Centre but due to the size of the venue I will have to cap entry to 16 coaches.

The NAF confirmation is in so all games will be NAF ranked

Proze support is from Gaspez Arts

Entry and Entry Fee
I will take names of people that are interested now.

Tickets will go on sale at 11am Saturday 5th Feb 2011. Tickets will be sold on a 1st come first serve bases. And once 16 coaches have paid entry will be closed.

Ticket prices will be £10. Yes thats under £1 per game!

Payments can be sent to geordie149@hotmail.com via paypal. Please designate the payment as "personal" and a "gift".

Any payments received before 11am on 5/2/2011 will be returned (maybe, but most likely not) and will not be accepted as payment in advance.

I list will be posted on TFF of all coaches that have paid as I receive payment.

Entry fee will include pizzas, snacks, and refreshments.

Once you have been confirmed as attending you MUST submit your roster and skill selection to me (via TFF or email) by 6th MAY 2011. Failure to do so will result in a skill deduction for the tournament.

How To Get There
The venue is still top secret

But it is close to both the A1, and Newcastle City Centre. The venue is served with good transport links to the metro network, airport, bus stations, and rail station.

There will also be the DON VITO taxi services running between the venue and Newcastle.

Things To Bring With You
Your painted team.
Your Blood Bowl board
Dice.
Templates.

Block Around The Clock Rules
Block Around The Clock will be using the CRP / LRB 6.0 rules. The 3 new teams (Slann, Underworld and Chaos Pact) will be allowed.

The Illegal Procedure will not be enforced.

In order to play all 11 games in 24 hours we will be playing 2 hour games. I will call games if they run over the 2 hours. Regular time updates will be given and I ask that you try to play your game in your 2 hours.

We will be using the standard "Resurrection" rules: teams remain identical from game to game, with casualties, winnings, fan factor rolls etc. not carrying forward.

Undead or Nurgle teams may not keep 'raised' players from game to game.

Team Selection
Coaches may spend up to 1,100,000 gc on their teams.

Coaches may not include Star Players.
An exception to this rule is Halfling, Goblin, Ogre and Underworld teams, who may hire up to two Star Players.

No other Inducements are allowed.

If a coach spends less than the 1.1m he will not be entitled to Inducements on a game by game basis.

Skills
Each team is allowed ONE Double skill and 5 Single Skills.
You are limited to a max. of 2 occurances of any one skill.
These are to be picked and submitted by 6th May 2011.

Games and Scoring

All games for Block Around The Clock will be pre-drawn.

Game one fixture list will be published the week before the tournament.

On arrive at the tournament you will be given a welcome pack containing a list of all your matches and copies all of the rosters. You must play your games in the order set out in your welcome back.

Points are scored as follows:

2 points for a win.
1 points for a draw.
0 points for a loss.

Tiebreaker for the winner of the tournament is TD difference, CAS difference, TDs scored, CAS inflicted, opponent score and alphabetical order of name.

Let me know what the interest is like as i was looing at doing Cake Bowl that weekend in Swindon. If it looks like both can run ok i'll still go ahead if not i'll move the cake.

24 hours is great, did the Dutch one a few years ago and wanted to do another some time if i could.

It's well worth doing mate. Done it once in Holland and had a great time, brain was fried by game 8 or 9 and leaking out of my ears by game 11.
Works well running 13:00 to 13:00 means a lot of people wont need any accommodation.

Valen just so we are clear the rumours that the secret venue is a Lap Dance bar are not true, I did try but they were all booked for 40k tourneys.

We could try and arrange a home visit..... But that would push the cost up if people wanted included in the ticket price.

I'd be interested in this as well.

Worth pointing out that this is the Bank Holiday weekend as well, so plenty of time to recover!

I am very much interested. However I will be at the Casenawydd Cup tournament when tickets go on sale so that may rule me out as I don't have iPhone capacity etc.

Cheers
Joe

Totally all over this, I'd not dare miss it!

Maybe push the payment time back to a weekday evening to give everyone a fair crack?

Supply me with double espressos on an hourly basis, and I'm there!

Joe, get someone to sign you up. It would be a shame to miss the uberstrop when someone serves you up a 1in64 bounce followed by a completed long bomb at 4 oclock in the morning, in your 10th consecutive BB match ! ;)
