I just wich you could realize that. I have nothing against you personally and i don't know what your obsession is with me, but stick to the subject. I'm talking Blood Bowl and all you ever talk about is how stupid/full of bullshit/(insert insult) i am. That's not what this forum is about.Pariah wrote:We aren't here for a pissing contest.
Where is the point in having cheerleaders and assist coaches

For cheerleaders, the only thing i assume is that FF are close. If they're not, it just makes my argument against cheerleaders even stronger because it makes them even more useless. For assistant coaches, there are no assumptions at all, except as for the cheerleaders the number of kick off events per game. But insert any other (realistic) number there and you'll see that they're still not worth it.

Then why are you still here calling my method bad strategy? Why can't you agree to disagree as I have. I don't like your strategy but I'm not going sit here and pick it apart. It works for you and I'm willing to accept that. Why can't you do the same?
There's a name for what you are doing. It's called trolling.

Agree to disagree on this one gents and move on. Both of you have a long nemesis history, so Pariah you aren't going to convince Zombie to agree to disagree and Zombie you aren't going to convince Pariah that math is god because its not his God.Pariah wrote:I'd like to have some MOD help, if I could.

Do any of you remember the special cheerleader rules in one of those BB compendiums that were released a while ago?? They had a bunch of different rules for the different races of cheerleaders in Compendium 3, page 14. The human cheerleaders, were the league hookers, the norse cheerleaders would pound the opposing players with snowballs etc.... Where for every cheerleader you had you got a better chance of them helping you out. I know they were never made official but my league tried using them and it was fun. You must have read/seen this article. It was called... "Pom-poms out for the lads..." by Ricardo Nagaliati Pretty neat stuff.

those rules were horrible... the various racial cheerleaders' abilities were totally out of whack with each other, some races' cheerleaders (esp. dark elves, as i recall) could fundamentally alter the flow of the game, others had an utterly tricial effect... all in all, it was a wholly unsatisfying attempt at house rules of the lowest quality, but with the best of intentions, i'm sure...Rustycan wrote:Do any of you remember the special cheerleader rules in one of those BB compendiums that were released a while ago??

Just because the rules are well liked in the MBBL2, here are the rules that league uses for Asst. Coaches and Cheerleaders:
Assistant Coaches:
During the pre-game sequence, a D6 will be rolled for every 2 Assistant Coaches that you have. If at least one 6 is rolled, then your team will receive one free Pre-Match Preparations special play card in addition to any other cards drawn. This represent the extra training that your team receives from having all those assistant coaches.
If at least two 6s are rolled, then your team will receive one free Dirty Trick special play card instead of the Pre-Match Prep (unless your team is not allowed to get them (they get Pre-Match Prep still)). in addition to any other cards drawn. This represents that your coaches worked extra long to come up with something a little extra for this game..
Cheerleaders:
During the pre-game sequence, a D6 will be rolled for every 2 Cheerleaders that you have. If at least one 6 is rolled, then your team will receive one free Grab Bag special play card in addition to any other cards drawn. This represent the extra boost for this game that the Cheerleaders have given you.
If at least two 6s are rolled, you will receive a Random Event special play card instead of a Grab Bag Card. This represents the fact that word of the antics of your cheerleaders have made this a "must-see" match and bigger matches have larger twists of fate and chance.

I'm not really a fan of the extra stuff I've seen for cheerleaders or assistant coaches. I read that atricle and I thought it was funny but that's it/ It was not playable. Most of it is very unbalancing. The only thing I did like was something I saw about assigning assistant coaches to individual players and then once per game that player could add a +\-1 to any of his dice rolls. Everything else is too intrusive. The extra stuff isn't needed. They serve a real purpose in the game, it's not an essential one, but enough of one to justify their existence without alot more silly rules on top of it.

We'll agree to disagree on that point, Pariah. I much prefer the MBBL2 rules than the LRB nothing rules for them. It takes Zombie's math argument and throws it out the window.Pariah wrote:They serve a real purpose in the game, it's not an essential one, but enough of one to justify their existence without alot more silly rules on top of it.
It creates an interesting TR management issue for some teams as I now have teams with 16 points of TR tied up in an area that I agree with Zombie on having zero of each for an LRB league.
Also never found the rules silly. The coaches in my league loved the old special play cards. We found this to be the easiest way to continue to allow them in the game without creating a whole lot of rule bloat or difficult to understand mish-mash.
If the cards ever came back to the game, I presonally think this would be the way to do it. I'd allow any team that freebooted a wizard to get a Magic Item card for that game also. That would cover all the old card tables.

Well, like I said before Galak, I don't see the MBBL 2 as proof of much. There's way too many experiments going on to have positive results on one thing. That said I really don't know what your cards are but if they are like the old cards then I don't like them. Don't miss the cards for anything but one off games and the fun of drawing cards.
The compendium cheerleader rules were a bit over the top and took something that was a minor aspect of the game and made it a game breaker! I mean the Dark Elf cheerleaders could wipe out your team while the orc cheerleaders did hardly anything! Those ruoles were far from balanced.
