Vulcan's Hammers: "chaos" dwarves team.
I just finished painting my 'chaos' dwarf team for our local league.
chaos is in quotes because the theme is dwarves who are not mutated & evil: they are simply extra driven and misunderstood for their pursuit of advanced technology.
And they use hobgoblins as forge laborers.. but cutting costs by cheap labor just seems practical to them.
So here is Vulcan's Hammers:
Dwarf blockers in sturdy armor, with two wearing the prototype "Centaur" armor, equipped with boosters (for more speed and a sprint of extra speed when needed) and two hammer fists for added strength.
The Hobgoblins try to emulate their masters with a machine of their own... the battle-suit "Minotaur", affectionately named Grinder.
Their veteran coach may take the pitch if needed as a returning star player. They have a 3-1 record so far this season... we'll see if they can keep it going.
and the Hobgoblin girl is good at getting the crowd agitated for violence.
I made a team of 16, knowing I'll probably never have that many Hobgoblins on the team, but I might use them as the bulk of an Underworld Team next and run them as goblins on it, so I went ahead and filled out the ranks to 16.
Can't put pics wider than 800 pixels here, but can find a larger picture & some detail shots in the photobucket linked in the signature if you're interested in seeing more of them.

Damn you all, constantly making sweet models looks awesome when I am trying to make the same sweet models look half-way decent and failing.
Great looking team and great concept.

Re: Vulcan's Hammers: "chaos" dwarves team.
Thanks for the kind words
I was pleased with the copper metal, it has a bit more spread of tones than the photos bring out.
The Minotaur is confrontation too, weapon snip & it was set.
The Hobgoblins are goblins from Pathfinder, weapon snips and repose a few arms.
The Cheerleader is also pathfinder, a goblin taskmaster I think. she had a sword & whip, so I sculpted some pom-poms and now she's a cheerleader.
Team tokens are banner bits from 6th edition warhammer dwarf banners.

The Dwarves are from Confrontation, no conversion work needed- just an arm swap & fill for 2 of them so there would be a bit more variety in poses.Diamond Joe Quimby wrote:these look amazing, well done!

Great work as always, David. I love the choice of models (I've been hunting the Meteors for some time), and what you've done with them.
