Well, i don't. You don't win anything by letting them get SPPs for one turn. You might face the same team again in the future, so you might as well make sure that game will go as smoothly as possible. Besides, we all know that any team can score in one turn (except maybe dwarves).

It's all right by me.

There can be differences though. If my opponent had already lost several of his players I would not go on to kill his team and wait with the score.

At times like this you are usually more than 2 TD's in front so giving him the ball and a chance to score the 'Honour' TD is all right.

My opponent allways tries to kill off my key players in games where the team hasustained considerable damage allready.

He whines :puke: when the same happens to him.

Nah you'd never do that...part of the point of stalling is it gives you an extra turn to pound the crap out of team who you're stalling against! That way even if they DO get the ball back they'll be less able to do anything with it anyway :)

BOO!! I keep statistics of TD's allowed...I always go for the shutout. Never give them easy points!! :)

Time is a critical question in Blood Bowl. So I think it's fair to wait and not score now.

As you can see Penguin, the overwhelming majority support the use of this tactic. Personally, I have won with and lost to this tactic and never once cried foul.

It isn't even limited to strength or grinding teams. A speed team could hold it at the end of a half to allow only 1 turn to equalise by their opponents.

You most certainly ARE playing the game. The objective is to score more TDs then your opponent to win. Nowhere does it say you have to score quickly to give them the chance to equalise. If it did we should all just give up and play elf teams.

Reading this and I agree. That is the way the play the Undead Team. Actually any good strength team. I've done it myself and it can make a boring game of course but its all about tactics.

And as an American you should know all about it. Come on, the Knee in NFL? Its the same thing as keeping the ball carrier in play to count down the clock. Or going off the field with the ball (Forwards of course) to stop the clock. Tactics!

And thats exactly what the Undead do. Its called playing it Safe and Smart!

Hi all,
sounds like I'll be sticking out like a sore thumb.
Well at least the majority of my league agrees.

Here is our take on the issue.
Sure it is legal.
But it can get very boring!
When you seen a chaos team do nothing for 5 turns against a softer team, (except hounding the 2 last players), things get too boring for my taste.

The point is that I'd rather lose a close/intense game, than win a boring one.

Therefore we created a rule for conceding a touchdown if you are in a truly desperate situation.
You can see the rule and some feedback here:

Then stay down and the turns just whizz by.

Yeah, those games are anything but boring as they're finished so fast. Then just start another one (preferably not against the same team!)

So, next question: is it immoral when an elf players purposedly whines about his opponent playing the clock, to get a chance to score? :D

nah whining is always legal/moral, you just don't have to listen. :)
