Team tournaments are all about bringing your best frocks (i.e. races) and trying to win for your mates. The big guns bringing their 'A' game and duking it out for the spoils. If 2-3 coaches on each team will have their hands tied behind their backs, well ... that ain't fun. I'd almost go as far to say we should consider whether it should be NAF ranked. If I rock up with my Undead and only have to play Nurgle/Humans/Pro Elves ... well, that ain't right. Alternatively, the idea of me taking Nurgle for a weekend and getting trashed so that my teammate can take Wood Elves and rack up 6 easy wins doesn't seem like it adds fun (for either of us).

This should be seriously considered. There is no other tournament that has ever made a coach use a crappy race. By all means give the weaker races an incentive for people to use them. Extra points etc.

I disagree that team tournaments are about bringing your best races.

You may have a point about not forcing someone to use a team they don't want to use (though with 24 teams available I don't really personally see this as a massive issue). Giving the weaker races a points advantage could work as an alternative. Either for extra skills, extra team points or perhaps both.

no one is forcing you to take nurgle so someone else can take woodelves, you can force them to not take woodelves...

Thanksfor the feedback Joe, I'll give it serious consideration ahead of publishing the rules. Certainly the last thing I want to do is lessen the enjoyment/put anyone off attending.
