I've been thinking about this since all the discussion about potentially buying a copy and so forth... where is the sculptor in all of this?

Even if this sculpt doesn't "belong" to GW, doesn't that mean it belongs to the original sculptor instead? He may have bought a master copy and made a production mold, but is that really any better than someone who re-casts stuff to sell on eBay just because we don't know the name of the person who owns the original IP?

He's been pretty upfront about it which is admirable, and I do agree it would be good for this figure to become available to the community, but on reflection I'm not at all convinced he should be profiting off this figure and particularly the way it's been decided to proceed by drip feeding figures on eBay to keep prices insanely high.

@Norse, I read you got hold of one, I would look forward to seeing massive photos of it painted up, guess we will have to settle to 800px wide ones instead ;]

i don't undestand the busines point of view of the owner. He would earn much more money if he sells a couple hundreds to lets say fix prize 50 €. And much quicker than biding for them on ebay!!!

I love that when we tried to approach him about a bulk order he said no because he didn't want to disrespect the eBay bidders, and then turned around and disrespected them anyway by putting up a Buy It Now price which is less than a third of what the original auction sold for. It looks like the next one went for under $100, so the law of diminishing returns for these eBay auctions is already kicking in.

At least now we know what he considers a fair selling price is, $50 US a pop. Personally I think he'd make more money in the long run selling more at a lower price, but who can really say. I wouldn't be surprised to see the price drop again once the people willing to pay $50 run out.

Well hopefully I will grab one of these suckers if they lower. It is a sexy as hell mini but a little out of my price range at the moment. I will be a patient badger and hopefully it will happen.

My question is :

In the Khemri auction the guy says that he's selling "a casting from an unreleased green of this figure", but, in the next sentence he says "I purchased the green from a former employee the same time I was able to obtain the copy of the rare human player", and, in the Rare Human auction he states "This is a casting from a master copy of this figure"

So, he's bought the mummy's green and selling copies, and he's bought a COPY of Zug and selling copies of the copy. I understand that being the owner of the mummy's green he can sell copies, but, can he sell copies of a copy of Zug?

Then, why can't we get one of those copies some of you already have and cast and sell them at like 10-12$ (8-10 euros)?

Where's the difference?

If someone more versed than me in this copyright cases could enlighten us, it would be great.
