Exactly, and there is also a massive difference between organising a large bulk order of 50+ miniatures all in one hit to selling 50+ mini's via eBay. He'd have to trickle feed them into the system over many months in order to make it practical. He also then cops eBay fees etc on each and every transaction, and it's fair to assume that the price will sag over time once the initial flurry wore off and it became clear there would be an ongoing supply.

We've been asked to determine what we're willing to pay, and that's what we're doing. If he knew what he wanted for them then he would have just stated a price, but clearly he's doing a bit of market research to weigh up potential supply and demand. He'll have to decide whether he wants to sell a lot for a lower price, or a little for a higher price... it's pretty clear that at $20 he could sell to pretty much anyone who's interested at TFF, and as the price goes up the number of customers goes down. I'm hardly an economist but it seems fairly straight forward to me, a simple matter of mathematics.
rolljordan wrote:Well considering the rarity of the model and the difficulty in getting it, I believe a 30$ each is a fair price not including shipping, but beeing so rare I believe 50$ is fair. Master molds don't last that long. Maybe 200 copies then it will burn. So even if becomes available it still will be very rare to obtain. This is my 2 cents.

If it's over the 200 Already (thx Chris for the hint) i want one of the below #200! ;-)

You want one below 50 believe me.... Some times small pieces rip off the mold ;)
According to Norse in the other thread it's a production mold, not a master mold, "just like any other model you could buy from a store". So that presumably means it won't start to deteriorate after 50+ casts and only last for 200 tops. Not sure if that makes a difference to your assessment of a fair price...

Great mini with a fantastic expression on his face! I'd also be in for one at $20!

It all boils down to shipping for me. I know how much the process cost and how price per model drops as volume increases. I know the guy needs to make money or he wouldn't be in it. We would easily be good for 50-100 models. his price per model would be around $2.50-$3 a model. Multiply that times 4 and you are looking $10-$12 a fig then add on shipping. $20 for this figure is insane. I think we can all agree with the poll if $15 were on the poll it would heavily outweigh both $10 and $20.
So the problem here is the poll did not consider the average. If you want to dish out $20 + shipping feel free.
My opinion is clear and for $20 I would never own that figure. It is not worth my hard earned money especially as it is becoming a unlimited cast.

I would pay $15 as the man has to eat (and get a few for friends)

My $20 price is pretty much all I can afford to pay - I have a certain amount of "spare" money a month (less than before, as I have to repair or replace my car by the end of the year). If the seller decides to go higher, no biggie, it's his choice, and good luck to him. I'll be a little bummed, but then I am a little bummed that I didn't buy all those zoats that the old toy store had in stock all those years ago reduced to £1 for 10 to clear, I'm a little bummed I got sniped on a 2nd ed dwarf team with 10 secs to go etc etc etc.

We were asked what we'd consider a fair price, I posted mine. If the seller wants to go with $30, $40 or even $100, that's fine, I just won't (can't) buy one. I don't care if it's the "right" price (the price I voted for), that's not what the poll is about. If you said that $50 was the "correct" price (based on casting etc etc) I still wouldn't change my vote, because it's not the price I can pay, or think fair.

For my buck, I'd pay $15-$20.

Count me in for 2 (say $35?)

... just wondering, where this post will end and if we ever get a large order at all from this seller?
This post started as a poll about a single mini and running now as discussion about fair mini price.
Still a interesting reading. :)

As some of you know i paid quite a lot for rare, old and "limited" GW minis in the past for my collection.
This mini now is a very nice mini, yes, and i want to own it for some time and it would fit nice into my 5.ed Human team. But it´s not a official GW mini (imo) for my mostly GW collection and so i will be happy to get it... but i will , p.e. bid not against someone like this south african for it. I did this for a NAF Trophy once... luckly i lost. :D

I´m now curious, how the auctions of this mini will develop....

i'd happily pay $20 per piece any higher and i'd have to seriously think about how much i want this as like most of us i put a price on what i deem something worth no matter what that thing is.

I'd be interested at $20 maybe $30. Of course this is assuming the model is good quality too, i can fix miscasts easily enough but it takes a while.

But I can see why the owner of the model would be hesitant to sell it off for $20 a pop when he can probably make much more by putting a single model up every month.

It's probably not much extra work to do the single model and he can do it as and when he pleases but if it's a bulk order then that could be quite a lot of hassle for not a massive profit.

I am a firm buyer of one mini at $20, if that is the final decision.
