Custom Really Stupid/Bonehead/Wild Animal dice
Hey, folks.
I've contacted Chessex and I've submitted designs for a custom Really Stupid/Bonehead/Wild Animal dice. One side is going to say "DUH!" in big letters which would correspond to a roll of 1 for any of those rolls. Two of the other sides are going to say "HUH?" in slightly smaller letters to correspond to a roll of 2 or 3 for non-block/blitz actions for Wild Animal and Really Stupid players without adjacent team-mates. The other 3 sides will be blank.
I want to order these dice soon and want to know what the interest is. I'm really only looking to recover my cost here but, obviously, the more dice I order the cheaper I can sell them for. Chessex' price points are as follows for an order:
10-25 dice: $3.00 per die
26-99 dice: $2.25 per die
100-199 dice: $1.80 per die
200-499 dice: $1.50 per die
500+ dice: $1.26 per die
Who'd be interested in these dice, how many would you buy, and at one price point (plus shipping) would you purchase? To be clear, I'm just polling for interest... no implied transactions here! Here are some links to some images of the proof from Chessex:

Sorry, the Impact tokens do the job better in my opinion, and cheaper.

For sure, but this die isn't really meant as a counter but rather as the actual die you'd roll for big guys making Bonehead/Really Stupid/Wild Animal rolls. More for fun than anything else!Darkson wrote:Sorry, the Impact tokens do the job better in my opinion, and cheaper.

Prices changed from original post... Chessex sent me the wrong quote. They're lower. Yay!

Re: Custom Really Stupid/Bonehead/Wild Animal dice
don't really see wild animals going "huh"
perhaps 2 sides with something a bit more wild in theme and the last side can be even wilder
then you can still use it but make use of all 6 sides and theme is better for each negatrait
though perhaps this pushes the cost up more I don't know
not interested either way, just thought that would make a better idea

If you were to put something on the blank side's it would be better. Something as simple as "ok" or "smartz".
I like the idea but i would prefer all side's to have something, i also don't like "HUH" but i cann't think of anything else myself so i would go with that.

Yeah, I'd like it much better with some sort of graphic, though I suppose that would be more expensive.

Having something on every side doubles the cost.

I would buy a big guy dice. Sounds like a great idea.
Ollie's right it would be better with images on all faces, even if more expensive

The impact tokens do a different job. They just mark a player as having no zone etc. This is completely different.Darkson wrote:Sorry, the Impact tokens do the job better in my opinion, and cheaper.

Re: Custom Really Stupid/Bonehead/Wild Animal dice
Actually, I agree - I didn't understand the original idea (or it wasn't explained properly, but I think the first is likely more correct). That said, I'd still perfer a d6 to the dice as listed by the OP - "huh" and "duh" is pretty "meh" to me. If it had graphics on all 6 sides (which I understand would put up the price) I'd be interested, but as it stands, a plain d6 is better imo.

I llike the idea now I've thought about it a bit.
Isn't it an idea to give more sides different meanings, for example;
1 Duh (bonehead)
2+3 Wuzzit? (Really Stupid)
4+5 grrr (wa)
6 GRRR (Wild Animal)
maybe BloodLust could have a place in there as well?

Sounds like a good idea, but I think I'd prefer icons rather than text. Don't know what those icons would be though.Dave wrote:I llike the idea now I've thought about it a bit.

Maybe something like:
1 "?" (bonehead)
2+3 "!" (Really Stupid)
4+5 angry eyes (wa)
6 open mouth with big sharp teeth (Wild Animal)

Interesting, however (and this is just for me) I think I'd get confused with that many symbols on the die, having trouble remembering which glyph applies to who.
