Some time ago there was a poll here about the most powerfull race. It showed that among TBB experts 10 out of a total of 69 consider dwarfs to be the most powerfull race - among the better races but no more than that. Beneath are just the result - the thread is interesting reading but I dont know how to insert the link:

Humans 5% [ 4 ]
High Elves 11% [ 8 ]
Dark Elves 4% [ 3 ]
Wood Elves 14% [ 10 ]
Chaos 7% [ 5 ]
Dwarves 14% [ 10 ]
Undead 8% [ 6 ]
Skaven 4% [ 3 ]
Orcs 27% [ 19 ]
Norse 1% [ 1 ]

Total Votes : 69

opinion polls aren't as conclusive as hard statistics

..........they may very well be better - the statistics could lie if if there is some kind of bias, for instance the coaches playing dwarfs could be typically bad coaches :smoking: or the statistics could be other wise biased, while in the poll you have the qualitative aspect from the expert opinion.

The "expert" opinion is often the same coaches who play the game, so the so called bad coaches can sway an opinion poll as well.

yep, but in a thread like this the point is getting the arguments and establish a concensus based on best argument/established knowledge - its a typical method in social science used often if "hard" statistics is impossible to trust because of lack information about the respondents.

Put another way: in a thread like this everybody know who the experts are and people with less knowledge are influenced by the experts.

Sorry, I thought I would be the only Groo fan here. But I should have known better after seeing this huge chin of yours :)

You can take Taranto, I'll take Ahax :D

Have you ever thought of playing BB with Groo dice? (for blocking)

While they are balanced aginst the whole field of teams (in theroy), some teams will have a harder time aginst them. I feel they are to skilled a team to start with, and have to cheap of re-rolls. This is not to say they are very broken, just powerfull.

But then, I have only won once aginst dwarfs so what do I know.?

Maybe I should change my Avatar to Ruferto? :) I'm not sure that people here know who Ein is.

I find it hard to belive that anyone(of the quality of intelect neccesary to enjoy a good game of blood bowl) would fail to know both Cowboy Bebop, and Groo!

I must be jaded and cynical.

No, can't say that I have. I once toyed with the notion of painting Thrud up as Groo. I do need to find another copy of the game though. My dice and cards are wearing thin. Speaking of liscenses, did you pick up the PVC set? I also here tell From Mark Evanier that there is a strong chance of some Groo Action Figures from Dark Horse in the future! (Word!)

Don't know much about Cowboy Bebop, except that it's anime. I swore that stuff off in '93.

Skummy, If you can find a good Rufferto let me know. Particularly with weapons. I've been looking for a good pic from Rufferto Reviere (sp?). The story where he imagines himself a warrior with Groo's swords. In the meantime this Arcadio's doing just fine.

That's why I rarely play that game. Has to last for the next 20 years :)
Have not bought the PVC set or any other merchandising product (Had not the chance yet to pick up some trading cards, but would have been just a fancy extra anyway)

If you're really want that picture, tell me the Groo issue in which it takes place and I can browse my Groo collection and make some scans for you.
What about the Rufferto where he becames human (looks silly)
