Being insulted for playing intelligently shouldn't really phase you, IMO. Unless you feel guilty about it

Frankly it is hypocritcal to say that stalling is sportsmanlike, while clearing the pitch is childish. They are both unsportsmanlike.

Unsportsmanlike only by your definition. Most of us consider the rule book more important than your opinion.

It's not only my opinion it is shared by quite a few, including one of the people that helped write that rulebook. Besides, Sportmanship transcends rulebooks. It is your opponents opinion of your play.
