Oh; didn't know this had started yet; it's about time I get back on up on the bandwagon. (Didn't see last year's legacy team until October, and then I was already busy)
Lineman #70 for me (MA5, ST4, AG2, AV8)
(As an American football numbering system purists, it hurts my feelings to see how you number your positionals)

Grim; you're supposed to know this stuff! (Ah, I get it, you're bringing the topic up so all the infidels can see tooGrim Reaper wrote: have a new team in works, how do the positionals go?

WARNING: This is how the numbering system works in real-life American football; I don't want to force it upon you guys to use (Although I would if I could

Thrower as Quarterback
- Quarterback: 1-19
Blitzer as Linebackers or Running backs (or Tight ends)
- Linebacker 50-59 and 90-99
- Running back 20-49
- Tight end 80-89
Catcher as Wide recievers or Defensive backs
- Defensive back: 20-49
- Wide reciever: 80-89 (10-19 is also allowed)
Linemen as Offensive/Defensive linemen:
- Offensive linemen: 60-79 (50-59 is also allowed, but more commonly only used for linebackers in the NFL)
- Defensive linemen: 60-79 and 90-99 (50-59 is also allowed, but more commonly only used for linebackers in the NFL)
I usually try to have the same player type within the same 10-interval; ie:
- Catchers are 20-29 and 80-89
- Blitzers are 30-39 and 50-59
- Linemen are 60-79 and 90-99 (sometimes also 50-59)
- Throwers are 1-19
- Special weapons are #40-49 for me, but the chainsaw is always 50-59
- EDIT: I forgot kickers (Maybe because I don't think of them as football players/human beings) They would be 1-9 (I usually use lineman players for kickers)
And so goes the days of life for a numbering system fanatic..

Why do the numbers range all the way to 99? How many players are there usually in an american football team?Brage97 wrote:Grim; you're supposed to know this stuff! In the NFL, they have up to 53 players on the team and 45 guys can be on the roster for each game.duckwing wrote:Why do the numbers range all the way to 99? Only 11 are on the field from each team at any time, but the players are normally dedicated to being only on the defensive unit or the offensive unit. In addition there are several specialists (kick return men, kickers, punters, long snapper) Then comes backups for all these guys.
So, I think they'll need all the numbers they can get

Well, even in North America, this is not common knowledge for everyone (the numbering part, I mean).

Up to 6 blitzers now - I think we have enough positionals all round (one of them could maybe be Griff?)! A few backroom staff would be good if anyone else wants to chip in.
The secondary colour poll is here: viewtopic.php?f=58&t=30589, and is pretty close.
