Weekend after the GT?
I guess you'll either struggle, or you're trying to give coaches a direct choice?

I haven't organised it - I'm just reporting it
Besides, there may be a few (me included) who can't make/can't afford the GT due to it being on a bank holiday weekend.

Just bumping this. I appreciate that it's the weekend after the GT - and not far from Nottingham, but the field is growing slowly, the facilities at Maelstrom are fantastic (I hear) and it's another excuse to have a laugh all weekend.
Hopefully we can see some more folks sign up....

I'd quite like to have a try as it goes, the venue seems really interesting. I just don't think I can get away with two running.

I've always been a big believer in the idea that if you want others to support your event then you should support theirs.Geggster wrote: Hopefully we can see some more folks sign up....
Would be great to visit the Maelstrom gaming place, but timing of event, prior plans and lack of mutual support are all negatives for me I'm afraid, sorry

Re: The Maelstrom Cup - Mansfield Notts - 8 & 9 May 2010
"Lack of mutual support"? Whilst we are all free to make our own choices and it is really bad timing with the GT the weekend before, is your point that the people running this - and I'm not sure who they are - should have supported someone else's tourney first? Do you know that they haven't? Just because they aren't posting on TFF doesn't mean they don't support the tourney scene..... the TFF crowd is really just the tip of the BB iceberg.Podfrey wrote:

Course it may very well be that the guys are new to the scene, aren't fully aware of TFF (or care for it - I don't care for it some of the time), have the facilities at Maelstrom and thought that they'd try and run a tourney.... Well good for them. It doesn't mean that anyone has to support them but giving a reason that they've not supported "us" first is hardly going to bridge gaps between different parts of the community.
