You see, that's why i don't understand the argument that it increases interception frequency. It's so low anyway that increasing it has negligeable effect on the game. Why not make the rule make more sense, if it only means that you'll get 1½ int in 30 games instead of two?
Besides, all you'd have to do is make interceptions +1 instead of +2 and that would increase their occurance way more than can ever be possible by allowing fumbles to be intercepted.

I'm 100% certain that this claim doesn't hold true. If it was easier (elves at 4+!!!) people simply wouldn't allow you to intercept. They wouldn't pass over you, because it's just too likely that you'll catch the damn thing.
AG4 players should do twice as many interceptions as ag<4 players. Yet I'm willing to bet that in most long-standing leagues this is not the case. People are just more likely to pass over an AG3 or less player than over a player that's twice as likely to intercept.

I have found that most interceptions occur when time in a half is low and winging it over someone's head is the only option. I have tried throwing it over a 5 AG Elf becasue there was no other choice. Good players just don't tend to throw over the opponent if another option presents itself.
Yer you can just predict that one block orc in a tz you have to throw over is going to get a 6 on the interception roll. Just like you get the skull on a one die block when you need anything else.
I once played in a league where the leading interceptor was a longbeard in a human team (back when allies were permitted). He had 4 ints and the closest player in the league had 1 or 2. So yes, i agree with you.
But why not make people roll passes before ints? I see no good reason why not.

One of my two ever ints was with a Treeman, it was the only time he ever held the ball, unfortunately he didn't have enough movement to run it in, even in 4 turns

The short answer is "no", but it is a qualified "no" because there are odd ways of interpreting the question which could justify the answer "yes".
Now that the special play cards the only way u could get a treeman to score in 4 turns from the los, would be in an mbbl2 rules league, and then only if your spell went off rite. It is pretty fun still when u have a touchback to give the ball to a Krox tho.

Neither do I. I've supported that particular change for a long time now, but it appears that the governing bodies are stuck with the current rule.
That must've been one of the first things I started a discussion on in the old bbowl-l mailing list. I can vaguely remember that amongst the supporters of the rulebook version were some of the current BBRC members, although I can't remember for certain.
The why not seems to be "because we've always played it this way and we have this 'more interceptions'-excuse too". They've opposed that idea for so long (as the int-after-pass suggestion has been around for quite a long time) that it's already about principle

Any treeman can score in 4 turns from the LoS. You just have to make 5 successful GFI during those 4 turns.
Yes but if he ever has to make even one dodge the odds go down drastically, i was speaking in the sense of your opponent having a team and being smarter than the range ruler. Personally any team that wants to go that route against me, please do. Im pretty sure that any score after 4 turns wont be the treeman, and probably will be by my team.
