I may have missed it in the rules but the star player requirement... is that in addition to 11 'other' players or could I have a team of 11 players including my mandatory star?

11 rostered players. plus a star.

So the minimum on your team will be 12.

Ok just trying to get my head round the skill points.

Dwarf = first skill Guard (1 point),second skill Guard (2 points). Total 3 points. correct??
Dwarf = first skill Guard (1 piont), Second Skill Stand firm (1 point), Third skill mighty blow (1 point). Total points 3 Correct?

I was thinking of coming so i just wanted to make sure i was doing things right.
