CONSPIRACY! (But a good one) - from my post over on AUSBOWL

Hi all,

I've been planning on purchasing the Phil's Phigs multi-part human team from IMPACT! for some time now, but have been waiting on getting some extra cash to do.

I left my doodlings re: bits and pieces I'd like for the team on my computer desk, and my wife noticed it while she was looking for some Christmas ideas.

Needles to say, my better half jumped on this list, and conspired with Tom from Impact! to get a full kit of Humans for BB (16 Linemen, 2 Throwers, 4 Catchers, 4 Blitzers and a Heresy Ogre (!!!)) together for me for Christmas.

Imagine my surprise when I opened up the box and found the sprues for all these waiting for me!

The pieces look much nicer in RL than they do in any pic I've seen to date, so I'm going to end up with a really cool Human Team for future leagues and tournaments.

Of course, this left me with some extra cash, which I had slated to buy the Humans with. What did I do with it? Ordered the new Calasain range from IMPACT!, of course.

If you've never bought any miniatures online before, I recommend you give IMPACT! a go. There's no better person to order from on the web than Tom.

The moral of this story? None really, except to say I have a wonderful wife. Also, Impact are the best company I have dealt with, ever, online or otherwise.

I, too, have been a victim of this type of Conspiracy. My wife and Galak have gone behind my back several times over the last few years to surprise me with new figures from Impact.

Impact is a great company, Galak, Valen and Norse are great guys and I hope (and contribute) for their continued success.

Pictures when you get them assembled ... I'd like to see pictures.

I've never see a painted finished team of the Multi-part Humans. I've seen some before painting and they were pretty cool. But I'd love to see what can be done with them.

Especially now that we have the MK Heads and Hands.

You'll get them, don't worry (pity my painting skills are sub-par, though... ) If any of them are worthy, you have my permission to purloin them for whatever use you so desire.

It may take a while, but they will get done...

this thread really cheered me up..

it's nice to see so many guys happy that Tom is running around behind their backs with their wives...

in all sincerity though, this thread is really nice to read - over the 4 years that Impact! has been around we have always tried to do the right thing for the right reasons.. sometimes people misinterpret that or misjudge us which can get disheartening or demoralising, so to see posts like this makes it all worth while..

maybe 2010 will be a good year after all..
