Re: LRB 6.0 has landed!!!

Just read through the thread and had the same knee jerk reaction as most folk (as I did for all the other recent nonsense). No idea what's going on at GW, maybe we'll see something in the coming months/years that leaves it all making sense, maybe not, but in the end we have the LRB6 in some form at least.

I for one am looking forward to just sitting down and playing the game without the need to worry about anything GW does any longer.

My guess is No, since Galak I believe received a legal letter demanding that he destroy all versions of it. Which I am sure that he has done based on his posts here and the fact that he would have/do anything to allow LRB6.0 to be released, even in this bastardized form.

So the competition rules are opptional, but the LRB5 rules are gone from the site, so does that mean we go back to the rule book from the box and if so does that mean we go back to penalty rolls. +2 for fouls and turning people into frogs, etc...

Also what about teams that are not in the box set rulebook? Does that mean these teams must use the competition rules?

...This is so confusing

I know and that still doesn't answer my question as it says 'alternative rules' which are optional and are not compulsary, but what is the official compulasary rules then as LRB5 is gone from there site and depending on when you got the box set, the original rule book will be diffrent?

I think the short answer is play whatever rules you like, same as it always has been. Official rules will be set by the league or tournament organiser.

<waves hand>There were no other teams.
They will appear shortly on the NAF site in far more detail and more prominence than they did before. It is our hope and intention that they will very much be part of the tournament scene and the rankings for these races will continue with our full support.

If you cannot stall out for an 8 turn drive to score with dwarves then you need to go and play canasta with your dad..if you can find him.

High on my list of people who I'd put in my will are Lycos for fighting for these 3 teams along with my 3 BBRC members who fought for them as well.

If you asked me what I'm most proud of with LRB 6.0 ... my answer is the 3 new teams and the Norse redo. But the 3 new teams are not official you say ... they are in every way that matters to me.

However ... while it was my solo efforts 4 years ago that got Jervis to agree to make these teams officially experimental ... they would never have acheived the status that they did without the help of Ian, Paul, Babs and Dave (Lycos). So thanks guys ... I've said this privately to them ... but I'll also say it publically. Every time I get to play my Slann team at a tournament ... I'm grateful to these 4 guys who made sure something great was not lost to the BB community just because someone above JJ at GW said no.

I think that was The Eagles:

old Billy was right.
Let's kill all the lawyers
Let's kill them tonight."

Can't remember which song though.

thirty seconds of googleing revealed that the song is "Get over it", and "old Billy" is obviously a reference to William Shakespeare, who wrote something like that in Henry VI.
