From the opening speil it looks like they aren't going to make these rules 'Standard' as they are too "cut throat" compared to the standard rules.

Don't go waiting for LRB 6 people. This is it.

Tom did give them the all inclusive LRB 6 with pretty pictures, background and changes from LRB 5 in red. However, this is what GW have done to it - for reasons I may get into trouble for sharing. Please note carefully the Norse team names. I can't say anything about them other than they are different from LRB 5.

However, this is LRB 6 and it's up and official.

Lycos wrote:To give you an example - Illegal proceedure. Surely a key rule in the game but do you see any reference to that in this document? I could not find it, so I figure it has been removed. That is something that Darkson and I advised them to do for the GW events. Seems that if this was anything other than a doucment to cover tournaments, that would be in there.
So I dont think we are seeing LRB6. I think (stress I am guessing / going on a hunch) they are covering the events coming up.......
Sorry - p.7 (or p.2 of the pdf) under Moving Turn marker.

That said, I think you're correct in that this is the GT rules, though that does beg the question why they left the League section in.

I know some GW rulebooks in the past haven't been great (2nd ed necromunda springs to mind), but this is to "amateur" looking for even GW.

Ok, ignore that, seeing Babs post above. :pissed: :puke:

[Edit] Hold on - Norse have werewolf (singular) at 6/4/2/8, Necro have Werewolves at 8/3/3/8 and yet we were repeatedly told that any position with the same name had to have the same stat-line, hence the skellie change for Undead, and the fact that Khemri lost Mummies and gained Guardians.

I haven't paid the closest attention to the changes from LRB5+ to LRB6, but I IIRC the Rat Ogre was going down to 150K, right? If so, are there any other rule changes that GW have done that differ from what was sent to them?

Will be interested to see how many changes/mistakes have been made.

I'm a little surprised to see these rules described as more cut-throat than the standard rules. Since all mention of LRB is gone from the site, I suppose that the standard rules is the 3rd ed. boxed set rule-book(?!). +2/+2 DP and all...?

Or am I missing something?

Isn't it LRB1 in the boxset now?

I've had a pretty cursory look through for comparison. I can't find anything else different. The rat ogre is certainly the only difference in prices/skills/stats for rostered players. The few skills I've looked up seem to be LRB6 and the star players all seem correct. I'll admit I haven't checked every star player price though.

I like that they have removed all the pictures and stuff, points at potentially getting new artwork at some point.

Given the past histrionics of recent things on this forum though I expect this thread to degenerate rapidly.

Don't get too paranoid. If there were holus bolus changes by GW - I'd have mentioned that.

It's still LRB 6. Get it while it's hot.

I'd be personally suggesting all League commissioners rename the norse werewolf to werebear to avoid confusion.
And special Thanks to Jervis for agitating the legal 'suits' to get this to us as a nice Christmas gift.

And if there are things 'missing' from the snipped and cutdown version - use what's in LRB 5. ( I haven't noticed any, but there might be - they've cut it down from LRB 5 very heavily).

I take cut-throat to mean rules lawyering, given the clause "where the exact wording of the rules is considered vitally important".

So why not have 2 downloads? One stripped down version (which isn't a bad thing at all), and one full version for those that want it?

As it is, if I didn't know anything about BB, and saw that "rulebook", I'd not think much of it. Hardly a great advert for bringing in "new blood" (which was an argument for letting GW host it).

@ Babs - any reason on the RO change?

Maybe it's due to their stand on not having "official" teams without having minis for them. They don't sell an Ulfwerener mini for the Norse but they do sell werewolves. Easier for them that way.

If that's the case why call them optional in the rules. Don't get me wrong, I'm more than happy that there are rules up and GW is moving forward with things. But why leave it up in the air like that?
