Colour scheme to identify your specialist

Post by matfried »

Hello fellow BB players,

I am new to the game (started because of the psp version!), I am busy building an orc and human and wood elven team. I want to use conversions. To identify your thrower, blitzer, cather etc what colour do I give theme? :?:

Thanks for helping a newbie out :D

in general, these colors are applied as baserings:
grey = lineman
green = blocker (black orc)
white = thrower
red = blitzer
yellow = catcher

edit: and welcome to the boards, nice to see the video game is bringing in some new blood :)

"Welcome to the Party, Pal!"

Elves are a crutch... dwarves just as much....
Totally avoid khemri and slann... keep your respect in touch!

TuernRedvenom gave the old 2nd edition system and it's a good one: my skaven have the forward quarter of the ring in this scheme, with the player number in the middle, in black....

The other method is using distinctive position miniatures: There's no confusion when you face my Necromancer team.... Zombies look like zombies... the positionals (golems, werewolves, wights and ghouls) are from the same manufacturer, respective to position, and though different poses they resemble each other.... You can see this at my website: http://graveyard-gothika.webs.com/necrominiphilia.htm

Hope you enjoy the greatest game on earth!

it really depends on how well you can tell the players apart. If you give the throwers a ball for example that's good enough I'd say.

Also do listen to Digger when he's giving Necromantic advice.
Do doubt his advice on Slann and Khemri :P

Following the colour scheme given, I sometimes (Depending on the team look) give the different positionals the matching colour to their gloves or gauntlets.

Actually, Baduk means to ignore my opinion on Slann and Khemri.... :-? Eh... what can I say? Poorly considered and insufficiently tested teams just aren't on my happy list.... :P

Thanks for the compliment on Necros, Baduk! Most games/days I just hope to find another useful insight.... Glad to hear I'm getting there.... :)

I just realised I'm inadvertantly following this advice on positional colours.

I'm painting up a Wood Elf team with Glade Guard for line elves and Wardancers. The line elves have a fair amount of grey on them. The throwers and catchers are dryads so I can paint them partially yellow or white for each of those positions. :)

Wardancers are spring and autumn (fall) coloured. :wink:

I had trouble separating the positionals in my human team (or rather, my opponents had trouble separating them), so I'm giving each kind of positional a different "clue" coloured part of their kit to help making the distinction clearer.

To explain: The team colours are black and red, with white helmet. In addition to the helmet, the blitzers have a white chest plate, the catchers have white shoes (sneakers!), and the throwers have their clothed arm painted white.

I think it's a lot neater than the garish base rings, personally.

How about painting a vertical coloured stripe each side of the number on the base? A lot more low key than base rings, but still very easy to spot.
