Star Player Gobbos

Post by nouge »

Does it seem weird to anyone else that the secret weapon Starplayer Goblins don't have stunty?

Obviously they can't use the positive (dodging) effect because of their secret weapons, but that's already covered in the rules for Stunty. Why put that clause in the rules if they aren't going to give stunty to any of the Starplayers with weapons anyway?

A moot question...

... but I'll put forward an opinion: it's either an omission  or they're just damned big gobblins :P

Aren't big Goblins called Orcs

The short answer is "no", but it is a qualified "no" because there are odd ways of interpreting the question which could justify the answer "yes".

On the bright side, the don't have +1 to their injury rolls. They can also throw the ball normally as well, which makes the mad bomber an instant thrower on a Gobbo team.

I guess it was a 'moot' question... (isn't that when a Halfling wants to know what's for dinner? Ta-dum!) but I guess I'm really saying that, well, they should have stunty.

(I know the rules review just happened, but it's never to early to get started on next years.)

Should they? Star players can lose racial traits. Morg doesn't have Bonehead, and Grashnak isn't a Wild Animal.

That's true, but stunty seems a bit more like a physical characteristic than Bonehead or Wild Animal, which are more psychological. I guess it could simulate the fact that the star gobbos are tougher than your average goblin, but it doesn't really explain why they should all be able to throw further as well.

throwing is down to technique as well as strength

and the star players were made before the negative traits and big guy rules were added
