I guess my biggest problems at this point with the comments from axiom, Darkson and Blammaham is why didn't I hear this back in February ( viewtopic.php?t=26773&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=24 ) ... at that point in time I had not completely signed off on design concepts and could have modified something if needed. All I heard back then was "great!"Blammaham wrote:I'm disappointed in these frankly. Too bad I had high hopes. For me the real problem is in the relationship between the corner of the mouth and the eyes.
Ah well ... I'm very sorry if folks are just now telling me they were "really looking forward to them" and that they are now "disappointed with the heads". I tried to give everyone time to give me their thoughts.

can't please every one with every mini
especially when it comes to a team where there isn't really a base for people to be judging them from
I think they look good though, as do roll jordans, which considering I don't really like many minis take that as a good thing
they are slann, not frogs/lizards/snakes/amphibians/reptiles/aliens/wombles

I'm just really surprised by the comments about the head design now after we displayed what it would look like so long ago.
and that I agree with.Grumbledook wrote:they are slann, not frogs/lizards/snakes/amphibians/reptiles/aliens/wombles

O.K. Tom, I just looked at that thread and if you look at the three or four posts after that people are posting pictures of Kermit the frog. From my point of view you shouldn't be surprised at getting "too cartoony" when you saw that even back then people were comparing them to puppets. If you wern't going for humourous/goofy that should have been a dead give away that you were on the wrong track for what you wanted.S.GalakStarscraper wrote:I guess my biggest problems at this point with the comments from axiom, Darkson and Blammaham is why didn't I hear this back in February ( viewtopic.php?t=26773&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=24 ) ... at that point in time I had not completely signed off on design concepts and could have modified something if needed. [Edit] Ok - TBB is now letting me load the other pages, so I've realised it's this thread

Currently an ex-Blood Bowl coach, most likely to be found dying to Armoured Skeletons in the frozen ruins of Felstad, or bleeding into the arena sands of Rome or burning rubber for Mars' entertainment.

I didn't like RJ's frogs when I first saw them, then as I kept looking at them I started to think they were good, but I wanted to see Impact!'s new team first. Then I saw them painted and thought they were great.
Now I see Impact!'s conversation spruces and I find myself going through the same thought process. 1. I don't like them, but after looking at them awhile.... 2 I like them. I can't wait to see them painted, and I think when I go to get a Slann team these are probably going to be the team I get.
I agree, they are not amphibians of any type, nor are they reptiles, they are slann.
Nose holes can be GS shut and redrilled whereever you want them.

Tom, firstly apologies if you're disappointed with the comments, however having only joined the TBB forums in May and only seen passing references (no pics) to the figures before then on the Impact forums, much of my anticipation was based on the fantastic ranges already made by Impact and my own assumptions on what the appearance would be.GalakStarscraper wrote:I guess my biggest problems at this point with the comments from axiom, Darkson and Blammaham is why didn't I hear this back in February ( viewtopic.php?t=26773&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=24 ) ... at that point in time I had not completely signed off on design concepts and could have modified something if needed. In fairness, sales will provide the best feedback you can get, and you have here only small sample of opinion, and by my counts you've got a positive response rate of around 75% in this thread. One option to consider is an alternative head set, but cost/casting/stock issues may make that unviable.
The open way you undertake the design process for your figures is a fantastic approach, and allows a degree of consultation not normally undertaken by manufacturers, and that is to Impact's credit, and I hope you continue with that approach. I really hope these guys sell well so you can continue doing the excellent work you do

I really like the Slann listed here, and really look forward to painting them.
The model makeups is what sold me. The pix of the positional players.
They heads do look cartoony without paint. but i bet with some detailed colors, they will definately not look that way.
gotta look passed the initial impression. some of the best models dont show the beauty until its painted. That goes for some women as well
Just kidding on that last comment. Somehow I was channeling Norse.
