Also received, today, a package of Scrap Thralls and 2x Brute Thralls (both warmachine, "cryx" from Privateer Press)....

The scrap thralls come three to a pack (two unique) and match up extremely well with the Mechanithralls I already have.... Given that, Mechanithralls and Scrap Thralls combined, I have 6 uniques and three duplicates (but unique within themselves), AND they all have cadaverous/skeletal heads, I'll paint all 9 in like uniforms and paint the duplicates heads as skeletons, while zombifying the rest.... That way I can mix and match for an Undead team, nearly at will....

The Brute Thralls are, yes, body size as big as a BB Ogre... while having a regular sized head.... Set next to regular-sized BB 3rd edition minis, the BT may be a little biggish for a Flesh Golem... HOWEVER... next to Warmachine Thralls (et al.), they're only a head above and don't dwarf these slightly beefier minis....

For the overall effect, I give the Brute Thrall a qualified "thumbs up"... for the (nearly) all Warmachine Steampunk Necromancer Team... an unqualified "Boo-yah!"

(Un)Life is good.... :D

Received the Hercules Biomech "Veteran" today and am, again, well pleased.... While still being within excellent tolerance of a 4St fig as to size, he's a teensy-weensy bit bigger than the other Hercules.... Looks like two brothers (well, they ARE from the same "lab" :D )....

One good improvement and one, almost insignificant, fault: on the good side, there are only two pieces and the pre-pinned arrangement holds from the previous model.... On the other hand, the base is a non-slotted, 50mm.... :x It must have something to do with combat in the miniatures game, as the two Hercules Biomechs share an identical sized basing tab....

I should have another slotted 40mm somewhere.... :-?

These bad boys are gonna look so good... :D

I can send you a 40mm base, Digger. I think the only liped bases I have are 30mm (though if I do have a 40mm lipped, I can send it), but I know I have a ton of regular GW 40mm bases that I can spare. Just PM your address if you want me to send one out.

I want to especially thank Lahatiel, TedStriker and boroorc who generously offered, and at their altruistic expense, to mail me a much needed 40mm slotted base.... Good-hearted folks who represent the best in a BB enthusiast....

In the end, the exact needed base "fell" into my hands: some may remember (or curse) the day I won the contest of naming Goblin Forge's new troll, "Starvin' Marvin".... As prize, they sent me a copy of the mini (arrived today) and, lo & behold, it has a perfect 40mm slotted base for my use with the Urban Mammoth Veteran Biomech! What about Marvin? Well, he's actually too big for the 40mm and will get the 50mm base swapped out from the other mini...!

A great coincidence that really worked out!

Back on track... so to speak:

"Detailed", in reference to the Greaser Geargrinder model, would be an understatement...! Still, today, I finally put the last, loving brush strokes on my occasionally needed, #6 Zombie!

On a tactical level, you just don't know how hard it is to find and dig up an upper partial body in Orc territory... have it not be eaten by gobbos, gits or ghouls... and mate it to a steam-driven contraption powered by Necromancy.... Still, Greaser never looked better than as a zed....

One of these millenium, someone will donate a camera to my poor self and I'll take pics of the "boys"....

p.s.: Any resemblance to "The Tin Man" is intentionally coincidental....

Next: I attempt to (at least) semi-match-to-match a pre-painted Skarlock with my just-primed Void Spirit.... After that, I'll only have the Ghouls left for my "standard" look team....

Seriously, the best Weres are from Secrets of the Reich.... Size, et al., are perfect (for me)....

Whoever started the (underused IMNHO) use of the 30mm "shadowed" fig next to the company figs should lead the industry horse to water! I'd really like a "side-by-side" before wasting my money....

Sorry to say that the opposite turned out to be true on the BlitzHunds... undersized (sorta, actually the same as Heresy's ghouls....)

Live and learn... buy and burn.... :pissed:

My biggest question is one of size.... The "Lupine" series, for example, of Reaper are way too big for the field and rest of the team.... Jean-Paul comes with a separate arm, so I'm wondering (not that that's always a qualifier)....
This guy's just a bit bigger than the Citadel WW... and much better looking. He's got gorilla-arms, but otherwise the model size is fine. I restructured his arms so he looks like he's shedding a blocker, and it wasn't too much work (covered in fur makes green stuff job easy). But his base is inappropriate for BB, and removing it was a big hassle (I ended up having to reconstruct his toenails).

What is Nuffle's view? Through a window, two-by-three. He peers through snake eyes.
What is Nuffle's lawn? Inches, squares, and tackle zones: Reddened blades of grass.
What is Nuffle's tree? Risk its trunk, space the branches. Touchdowns are its fruit.

Wyrd is just up the highway from here.... :D

The Belles have been on my "to do" list for a long time... have the figs and am going to actually use them as beckoning sirens in the graveyard....

Killjoy is one of my Mummies on "Dead Reckoning" (Undead) along with a Reaper Ghoul King.... Proper size for a 5 St figure....

Doctor Mourning is painted and on staff with my Regeneration team....
