For now I shall be a proud and mentally impaired player who apparently shares the same intelligence level of that of a chimp. Now if you would excuse me I have pressing matters to attend to, I have found a stick and I am going to poke a banana.

hi Digger,

Have you got a photo of your team - even if its only a work in progress?
It certainly sounds like it'll look interesting!

Dire Wolf

I think you have the ability to make that look more "machiney" too

Pre-painted plastic... but, yeah, that's a helluva paint job and looking well worth the $4....

Nice find....

Geez, Zak, I wish.... I must be the only picture challenged coach on this board....

Eventually I'll have three Necro teams:

1. Standard, with Rotters & Incursion zombies as zombies; Warmachine & Horde wights; Wargods ghouls; Reaper Flesh Golems; and SotR Werewolves.

2. Egyptian style, with "Standard" team zombies & ghouls; Pestigors as "Aman Ra" wights; Khemri (mummy) Golems; and Anubis Werewolves.

3. Steampunk, as in above post(s)....

Painting-wise, I'm all the way back at Standard-minus: I'm using Reaper Gloom Wraiths (I even saw someone put a necro team on ebay, using these), and Pathfinder Sinspawn (Reaper Ghasts for straight Undead)....

If anyone wants to suggest an inexpensive, yet very functional (for mini photo-ing) digital camera/net-cam... I'm all ears....

But, yeah, the Steampunk Gravediggers team is gonna be *major explecitive* AWESOME... even with my meager talents....

While I'm thinking about it: The "Withercombine" and "Necro-surgeon/Stitch-thralls" make great theme markers, but for some reason they are sculpted with conspicuously small heads.... I'd much prefer the Void Spirit and Scarlock for wights over the combine dudes....

The plastic werewolf previously mentioned is the same as the metal one featured front and center, here:

http://www.miniature-giant.com/unarmed- ... 8-p-7.html

My biggest question is one of size.... The "Lupine" series, for example, of Reaper are way too big for the field and rest of the team.... Jean-Paul comes with a separate arm, so I'm wondering (not that that's always a qualifier)....

Can any Brits/Urban War players tell me the size of these two minis...? I'm hoping they'll stand in for Flesh Golems (bigger than 3st size, smaller than a 5st Ogre, et al.)

IIRC, Jean-Paul is bigger than your average BB figure, but not as big as Reaper's "Lupine" Wolves from Warlord. I think he's the size that most people usually say: "he makes a good ST4." Which might still be bigger than what some people want in their Werewolf, but I know I've seen him used in a Necro team before and while he was bigger, I was still with him personally.

Hello guies,
i see that you wanted to use the brutethrall as flesh golems, i already did a undead team with those brutethralls (mechanithralls and other warmachine stuffs), and they are really huge, as big as usual big guies, that's also why i play it as a undead team so they are the mummies (5ST)
here a pic:

i played this team for all last year, and always had troubles to put the 2 brutethrall next to one another on classical pitches.

just my 2 cents

This wasn't the team I was remembering, but here's a thread with a nice Necro team that used those Jean Paul Duchamps werewolves from Reaper, so you can see the "bigger, but not too big" size of them:

Thanks, guys....

I was hoping the Brute Thrall would be not quite so big BUT with the slight oversize of the other Warmachine minis... it probably won't be too bad.... Very nice paint job, btw....

And the Jean Du-Champs is as you said, but also looks tres-bien with that team.... What mini is the other were?

For the team in the thread I just linked, they're both Jean Paul; he attached the separate arm at different angles and did a slight bend on the other to get some differentiation, and then he photographed them from different angles as well, making them appear even more different than they actually are.

I swear, I'm doing the miniatures happiness dance of ultimate joy TOO many times today.... Got in my painted Skarlock (wight) and it is spectacular.... Can't wait to match it up with a Void Spirit....

I spoke with The Warstore (NY) about the Urban War Hercules Veteran that I won (for a song!) off Ebay and was told it's slightly bigger than a 40k Terminator and smaller than an Ogre (they are on 40mm stands):

ImageImage

Looks like my Flesh Golems are perfected!!!! They will also match well with the overall look of my zombies (especially the Incursion pair, with their (un)life-support tubes and gizmos) and, if the Brutes don't work out, should stand in for the Steampunk look as well....

Mwah-ha-ha-haaaaaa!!!! 8)

While not my cup o' tea, I find nothing wrong with using the following D&D plastics for Flesh Golems (for those on a budget):

and

Got the first of two "Hercules Class Biomech"s in today and it is, indeed, the perfect Flesh Golem....

Based, he stands only a head above a based beastman, which is just right!

The ONLY possible drawback is in the wide (dynamic) stance of the figure... making it too wide for 25/30mm bases (for those who feel that's crucial) without cutting off the tab....

A bonus is in the way the 3-piece mini (overall + 2 arms) is pre-pinned: the arms end in rectangular inserts that fit into the upper bicep region....

The Goreman is WELL pleased....
