That's not quite correct. For your tournament points it is just important THAT all your minis were painted (one point for basic paint, one for bases and one for details). Although all miniatures have to be painted under the above mentioned criterias, it does NOT matter who has painted them.
Well, there is a prize for the best painted team, but that does not award any tournament points ...

Does anyone think about thrudd as a serious addition for the team??
I still try to figue out whether he would be worth the risk...it might be tough to stop him and get him to the ground for the dirty player, but then it would be tough for me as well...
.
I couldn't stop a kroxigor scoring at spiky, and he was only ST5!!!
On the other hand, thrudd is as cheap as most lineman!
What do you think?

Relborn - But it states in the rule pack.....
' We will be giving out an award for the Best Painted Team. Theis is awarded to the team that, in the opinion of the judges, are the best in terms of painting. In addition, we award a portion of the tornament points based upon team painting. We do this because our hobby is not just about playing games, but also modelling and painting. '
' It's not uncommon for players to use teams that include miniatures which they haven't painted themselves. There isn't a problem with this. However, we do want to make sure that the Best Team award goes to the player who painted their models themselves - the reward for the extra personal effort required to create and win with gorgeous miniatures. For this reason you'll be asked to indicate on the form that comes with this pack whether you painted your team yourself, or if you got someone else to do it for you. '
Im getting confussed (it dont take much)

well maybe I understood it wrong, but I was in the believe that there are two awards for painting:
1. for the best team (this one does not count to the tournament) and
2. 3 points for painting the team (goes into the tournament total)
I understood, that the best team prize can only be claimed by the person who painted the team, and the three points can be claimed by the team owner ... am I wrong ?

I think Relborn has it right:
Points will be awarded for everyone who has painted their team up to what people would call the normal level (I'm going to have to redo my dwarfs' bases because the f**king flock is being scraped off by their carrycase). These will count towards the tournament. BUT it doesn't matter if your standard is Eavy metal or Scrap metal, as long as you aren't completely cack handed. These points will count even if your team is painted by someone else.
All teams, even those painted by someone else, will be eligible for best painted. The player with said team will only get credit (assuming he wins) if he did paint the team though. SO if you are cack handed do your painter mate a favour and get him to paint a team for you on the chance he'll win best painted and you'll get your full points.
Something like that anyway.
And, seeing as Anca seemed unsure:
MAKE CERTAIN THAT YOU FILL IN AND SEND IN YOUR REGISTRATION CARDS. Take off your ticket and meal vouchers, fill it in (try not to smudge the ink like muggins here has), and get them back to GW.

Well..I was seriously considering it, before I found out you could just take one star. I figured with the line-up I was thinking of I could have coped with a change of sides. The risk is coming across a Skaven or Welf team that wins the toss and puts a quick score on the board. All of a sudden you could be looking at 1-0 down and Thrud on the other side.Sputnik wrote:Does anyone think about thrudd as a serious addition for the team??![]()

I'd still contemplate him on a Dwarf team, he's relatively fast, and you have Trollslayers to counter when he switches sides. Plus of course you're already playing ball control with Dwarves.
Anyway, you're guaranteed him for at least the opening drive, plus of course you're gonna get +3 on your FF on at least the opening KO.
It's risky....but it'd be fun. I hope we'll see some fielded. I wouldn't use him as a ball carrier though, bonehead could really bite you.
