Yeah at least there weren't any major deaths or injuries
the report should be interesting and as enjoyale as ever.

when he has retired a troll with 2 skills for a niggling, he MUST retire this oneAndromidius wrote:Oh heck! 0-3 TD and 0-10 CAS? That's just awful bad luck!
Hope you get a nice easy opponant to recover on next. And don't fire the Troll, MA3 isn't so bad for someone that probably won't be moving much anyway.
It could have been alot worse.

IMO -1MA for a LOS Blocker isn't as big a deal as a Niggling injury.
Despite the loss, the Goons still look in good shape with their league position and the next match.

Yeah, but I would follow the same logic he used. He retires the troll and with this team to upgrade it is easy. So perhaps, in his next chance he skills up block. And by the way, he has money enough to get the troll.Skarsnikk wrote:IMO -1MA for a LOS Blocker isn't as big a deal as a Niggling injury.

Goons get Gooned
Well it seems that most everyone knows that I've been on the receiving end for a change and lost to the Chaos Dwarves 0-3 (0-10 cas) in a humbling affair. I went in with a song in my heart and ready to give Rednick a fight to the death... little did I realise that it would be my death! It all started well enough, I induced an extra Apothecary and took a 100K card,(extra Training). Nick drew the Magic helmet and gave it to Uncle Crusty himself (His Claw/Pile on/Mighty Blow/Horns Dwarf Blocker - now AV10!) And that was where the wheels fell off...
Some Games Go Badly!
The Circus won the Toss and the Goons set up to kick. Now I don't like to give much away so I started with only two BoBs and my Troll on the line. That meant that Rednick would only get to throw 4 sets of block dice (three blocks and a blitz). I rolled a quick snap, but that's alright... I set up in such a fashion that he didn't get anything more to exploit. He rolled his four hits and BH my ST4 BoB, K/Oed Biff and The Bulk (my Killer and my ST5 BoB) and stunned my troll. I was down three guys already, with another out of action.
I got a few blocks and a blitz in return but only knocked down one guy with nil to show for it. On the Circus's next turn I was down another BH BoB and another K/Oed player. I had an opportunity to get some pressure on the Ball carrier, but failed a 3+ dodge including a re-roll. This time Rednick Crippled my troll (which I of course failed to regen) and MNGed my Guard Blitzer. After another pair of failed 3+ dodge rolls he Badly hurt some one else (I started to lose track at this point) and scored. The stupid part was... he was going to score with a 130+ SPP hobgoblin. I reached across the table and Pimp Slapped him and pointed out just how risk free it was to score with his unskilled Cow.
Well that was Turn 4 over, I some how brought back all my K/Os, brought on all my reserves and I was down 2 or three guys. He opened with Badly Hurting another ST4 BoB and blitzing my AG4 guy into the Injury bin.... at that exact point I gave up. He scored again with the Cow, (But I had to pimp slap him again to point out that there was no risk and it would get him a skill) He also injured and K/Oed more players (including my Goblin failing to dodge and getting Badly Hurt) I set up for the second half with 6 players and he took his time to get the ball and score again.
By the end I was throwing 3d negative hits at anyone without claw to save my self a slashing. Either that or refusing to get up. I was truly beaten both physically and spiritually. I could bemoan my bad dice (as they were not all that great) but really it was his dice that beat me. I wouldn't have had to roll so many rolls if he didn't crap kick my team from the opening whistle.
Funnily enough, after the match I very quickly got over it... Usually I hate to lose. Usually I suffer at the hands of hindsight and wish that "this roll wasn't bad", or "if only that" etc... But this time I guess it was all in perspective. The Circus is a team designed to beat High AV. The Goons are a team designed to utilise High AV. One could suppose that there was no other outcome but the one that came up. Sure if Rednick had a little less luck on the injury dice maybe I could have at least gave him a challenge, but at least I didn't get anyone besides a rookie troll injured.
Speaking of which I now have a Rookie troll with a -MA. He also received the MVP putting him on 14 SPPs. I think I'll keep him and see if he rolls Doubles at 16 SPPs. If not... Fired!
Next up I play the Asgard Raiders. They love a good fight and I'm down some key players. I'm going to induce a Merc Troll with Guard and a Goblin Bomber. The Plan is to have a Go at knocking down as many of his team as I can, keeping them bunched up... hand off the bomb to my thrower... He'll then Lob it to a prone player and punish the Norse AV7.
A sound plan, a few lucky rolls could get me a quick Man Advantage so Biff can show is stuff. If I can blow him out, I'll try to score with the BoBs or my ST4 Blitzer with the aim of getting Guard.
Wish me Luck!!!

Good plan.. though you do have to throw the bomb (can't Hand Off, it's a special action), and Dribblesnot has Loner and Stunty, so it's fairly risky...bouf wrote:The Plan is to have a Go at knocking down as many of his team as I can, keeping them bunched up... hand off the bomb to my thrower... Are you playing with 5b/6? Dribblesnot has hands and Right Stuff?

I thought that you could hand off to a friendly
EDIT : just checked, I was wrong... there is no mention of being able to hand off. That takes some of the shine off my plan. Well a lot really...
May have to think of something else..
P.S.: We play full LRB6 (or 5x or 5+ or whatever you call it!)
