I just sold a set of the blue with silver ink dice and they went for just over $34. They were nice dice.

Did you start at $25?

No. $0.01. Get lots of bids that way and save a little on the listing fee.

That's what I meant. I might bid on something cheap, and then work up (not the dice specifically, but in general) if I wanted it, to a higher price. I wouldn't/won't bid on something that starts at that price though.

Good luck anyway.

I would. If it's lower than I'm willing to pay in the end it'll be fine. You're only fooling yourself into thinking you can get it for a penny anyway. Well, Some guy won a bunch of neat dice from me for a penny but it's the expection, not the rule. You'll eventually put a bid on that's higher than the opening price.

Probably psychological.

Consider 2 identical items listed at $1 and $25, that I'm willing to go to say $30 or so, I'd probably bid on the lower one, as I'd feel that's more likely to go at or below my maximum.

Daft I know, but we all want a bargain...

The great advantage on listening with a low price is that you get the auction "around". Many people see the auction and put it into "my ebay" because it could be a bargain. You never know ...
