Here are a couiple of pics of the dice I am ordering for this year. By sheer coincidence the dice I ordered for the first two years were fire and water, and so I felt it only fitting to go with the theme of the elements. So behold

Air Dice!

They are a translucent blue, with some metallic flecks in them - the one that I felt were the most suited that they had available for customization.

Hopefully next year they will have some colour of brown that will be customizable, and then the four sets of dice will be complete (and then I will probably stop doing the dice thing then). Who knows maybe complete sets of elemental Q'ermitt may be worth big bucks on ebay some day!

I am currently sitting at 29 people having said that they are coming out for the tourney. Now if history has taught me anything it has taught me that the number of people that say that they are coming out and the number that actually show up are very different.

But more people keep coming out of the woodwork (which is great, don't get me wrong!) But I only have 30 sets of dice and 30 Uulriks to go out. So, in case it should happen that we do have more than thirty people at the tourney, the dice and model will go to those who pre-paid, and the rest will have to be figured out in some reasonable manner (lottery?)

u]Announcement:[/u]

This year there will be one more aware being presented, that being the Sandgroper/Q'ermitt award. Raider888 also runs a tournament using custom pitches down in Australia, and we have agreed upon doing a trophy which acknowledges the other tournament and the effort it takes to make a custom pitch.

Check out the pics of Raider888's trophy - it shows the sand on one side for Australia, and the other side has snow for Canada. Pretty wild, eh?

To this end, all people are welcome to bring any of their custom pitches to the Q'ermitt (provided I have seen the rules of course). I know this is short notice, but I was not sure whether I was going to have time to do that one up - now I know I should be alright. So there will be a similar trophy made for this year's tourney (which will have the winner's name added to it).

I know that Ben said he will bring one of his Canadian Open board and I will try to persuade Glenn to bring his Khorne Field, anyone else going to bring something?

Only a few more days boys!

A few final things to work out:

1) If anyone has not registered on the official website, could you please do so ASAP? I am trying to reduce my workload on the day, and to that end would like to get as many coaches names with team races and team names as possible onto the Excel file before the day (especially in case I do end up being the odd man out)

2) If people could e-mail me their team rosters before the day, that will give me a chance to look them over, again, trying to reduce the workload before the tourney begins. (craigtw2001@yahoo.ca)

3) As I am ordering lunch on the two days I would like to know if anyone has any dietary restrictions/allergies. Otherwise you will have to eat whatever I gives ya.

All help to this end would be greatly appreciated!

<PHEW!>

It's all over and peace is returning to the SpazzCave. It was one hell of a weekend, and anyone who was unable to make it this year had best be marking it on their calendar for next year!

But for any who did not make it, here are the main awards:

1st Place - Glenn Jones (norse)
2nd Place - Laurent David (skaven)
3rd Place - Rob Pharand (dwarf)

Spoon Boy - Eric Rubli (chaos dwarf)

Most TD - Laurent David (15)
Most CAS - Glenn Jones (32) (no, that is not a typo!)

Best Sport - Dan Chaput (khemri)
Best Smack - Eric Rubli

I am going to see about getting the full results and standings posted - give me a couple of days on that.

Thanks all for coming out! I hope you all had a good time! Hope to see many of you out at the Bongo Bowl in June!

I still need to figure out how to make cooler links, b ut for now this is what I have:
