Having happily said all of the above... I'm not as pleased with the "prone/stunned" counters.... Nothing to do with the quality of said counters, per se, as they are excellent... but they don't sit well on all bases.... as opposed to the oval counters (no zone and rooted) that sit excellently on nearly any base+figure.... I'm very seriously considering having a 2-sided oval made with "prone" on one side and "stunned" on the other....
I've got 11 of the prone/stunned disks if anyone is interested in buying them off of me....

They aren't made to put on the player's base.Vomit Lickspittle wrote:I've got 11 of the prone/stunned disks if anyone is interested in buying them off of me....
They were made to be put on the pitch in place of the player (ie you remove the figure from the pitch) and have the counter there instead.
Sorry if this is just me ... never thought someone would want to leave the figure upright and then put a counter to say he was prone/stunned on him. To me that would really visual cause me problems as your opponent and I'd probably request that you not do that if I was your opponent. (that could just be me ... but an upright player with a stunned marker on him would just really mess with my way of reviewing the board).

Wow... never thought of it that way, Galak.... Just how do you reference the marker to the removed player? (Honestly, you might be doin' it in a much better manner....) I started putting Go chips on the bases years ago in preference to laying them down....
Lay it on me, Tom..., I'll hold onto those counters!

I intend to get a couple of the stunned counters, but I only expect to use them for BGs - normal players just don't cause that much of a problem to lie on the pitch (things like BOBs might be an exception).

If you want to use them on all players, perhaps getting some custom tokens made at the same size as the No Zone or Rooted tokens? You can get them done quite simply in batches of 10 from Litko, and with a bunch of different shapes and colours to use.
Here we go, custom set 1 (geometric shapes):

Custom set 2 (bombs and bullets etc):

Customs are a little expensive, but the mini skulls are an option.... Reds for stunned and whites for prone....
The pre-litko option I used was to place #10 rubber washers on some body extension and that was visually useful (one if prone and two if stunned, requiring the removal of one to change from stunned to prone)....
What I did, today, was to replace all downed players with a prone/stunned counter and place the mini next to the sideline, on the same row the player occupied.... It was easy enough.... And it really improved the visualization of lanes where there were no zones of control.... The down-side was that you had to check the sideline if you forgot which player was down where....
On the other hand, the blue "no-zone" markers sat extremely well on either facing of the mini and were visually noticable.... An option to the larger stunned/prone counters would be a custom jobber, in red, the same as the "no zone" or "rooted" counters....
Tom, with all due respect, I'm not placing my painted minis down on the field... not to mention minis like Beastmen who don't have a placeable face down.... A visual counter is a much better solution for me....

We never had problem with beastmen, but try to find a solution for Skinks and Sauri.Vomit Lickspittle wrote:Tom, with all due respect, I'm not placing my painted minis down on the field... not to mention minis like Beastmen who don't have a placeable face down.... On a sidenote, are you worried about your paintjob, or why don't you place your minis on the board ?

Yeah, even with coats of sealant, over time things wear through... dinks... bends, whatever.... It takes me soooooo long to put a half-way decent paint-job on a mini.... and, really, minis take up to much space (cept for the stunties)....Meradanis wrote:On a sidenote, are you worried about your paintjob, or why don't you place your minis on the board ?
