After I compared the pictures of the original ones and the Impact! version, I thought that they didn't do a good job with the Impact! ones.

But then I realized it's only the different background colour. Someone should do a new photo of the Impact! version with a dark background.

Yeah, the background makes a huge difference. I did a little doubletake before realising the same thing.

I think Tom mentioned somewhere that he is getting a special little photography booth for christmas, so fingers crossed the image quality on Impact will improve accordingly :D

I greatly apologize that my ability to photo is horrible. I have requested Christmas presents to improve this. Photography booth with lights and tripod.

Impact photos aren't bad. The lighting generally isn't that great but that will be fixed. That is as long you aren't getting a new lighting system to make up for a lack of knowledge about aperture and shutter speed.

When I get the photo booth ... I'll be getting hold of you to get a new camera just for mini pix taking. And then you can give me lessons on the other 2 items as well. I'll get there.

Tom - Between here and/or the Impact! forums, I can't remember where you linked to the set-up you're supposed to be getting. ButI recall it as being similar to the one linked in the first post of this thread from the Reaper forums:

http://www.reapermini.com/forum/index.p ... =0&start=0

And, if so, wanted to point out two things to you:

1) Just last week, I saw the same kit in an Office Depot here in L.A. for $39.99 -- it seemed to me the one you were looking at cost more, IIRC.

2) Note the comments on page 2 of that thread, that the lights that are in the kit are next to useless. Everything else in it works great and is convenient, but a bunch of people agreed that the lights themselves are too weak and they needed to use other lighting with their tents.

Hope this helps.

I think my wife already bought it ... so thanks.

I'll work on the lights later.

Any idea when you'll have the other counters back in stock Tom?

Order placed.

Should have them in by the end of the month/first week of December no problems.

Got mine in... overall I'm well pleased....

The weather counters are a very tight fit and one must not be ham-fisted in putting them in their bases.... I couldn't get mine closer than 2mm from their bases for fear of breakage... but I find this more than acceptable...

The one exception is the "Snow" counter.... It was not cut to fit the base and required some dedicated time to shaving both sides of the tab with an exacto knife to get it into its base....

Let 'em know, at the factory, as this is probably solved with a machine adjustment....

Overall, a darned good lookin' and functional product!

Really????

I got mine in and out twice without problem on two different sets (the one I bought for me and the one I bought for the store display). Sorry if you got one that was a bit too large (or the hole was a bit too small).

The weather counters, standing up, are highly visual... the colors and markings stand out fine, especially when backlighted.... Regardless, and in ordinary lighting, the color of the figure/plastic has an effect of underlining the title on the base in the color of the marker (example: "heat" is effectively underlined in orange)....

They are very sturdy... I sat them on a table and simulated a fan blowing hard against them and they did not overturn....

Hopefully this small review helps....
