Big little update, for those of you following the team. I've finally got the deal finished, and the Blood-Bowl box with my glorious plastic humans is finally on its way. Hopefully I'll be able to start on my conversions soon.

I've been playing a league, and have been using the models originally intended as Runner's Squires instead as Runners... and have grown rather attached to them as such. I think they'll probably remain runners, and I'll have to make some squires that are slightly less awesome for them. I'm not entirely sure how to do that, but I'll try to come up with something.

Greenstuff started on the two Blitzers. At the beginning of the season I'd hoped these guys would end up being the stars of the team, but that hasn't happened in the slightest. As a matter of fact, the two blitzers are the ONLY current payed players on the team WITHOUT any casualties, or any manner of SPPs other than MVP. Ah well. I guess that makes me feel a little more OK about them not being particularly awesome conversions, like the Runners.

They will get armored shins/feet at some point in the future, as well as finishing up the tunic-y bits. They're a little short, and flat right now, they'll need some folds.

Awesome work :D

As for the team: Whichever blitzer got an MVP should probably try for a completion to one of the runners. That'll give you a quick skill, and picking up mighty blow or frenzy could be a quick route to more SPPs.

Cheers
Martin :)

I have to say (regardless of my opinion of the Brett roster) that this is some fantastically effective conversion work. Wow. :o

I like the knights. Easy to tell them apart from the linemen and squires. Nice work!

I second Joemanjis comments.
I think you've managed quite succesfully to show what a Bretonnian team ought to look like: Not Bretonnian military personnel dragged onto the pitch, but a real blood bowl team with a touch of chivalry and Brettonia.

I look forward to seeing the team fully painted :)

PS, just out of curiousity:
How's your team doing on the pitch?
How many games played?
How many W/D/L?
And did your starting roster work out for you? (I shudder at the thought of going apoth-less)?

If these questions infuriate anyone, we can just take it to PM, but I figure you can reply to that without pissing anyone off.

Cheers
Martin :)

I went 2-6-1 W/L/T for the regular season for games played. I started late, and was a complete newb, against coaches that had a season under their belt already, and teams that had at least a few games to my none.

I think If I'd started at the beginning, with everyone else, I could have had a better season. I also got cheated fairly bad on one game, and my dice just didn't love me on some of my others. All of my losses (save the first game) were by one point, so I guess at least I wasn't getting blown out all over the place.

I lost a couple peasants to injuries/death, but all of my positionals have made it so far. I have one Blitzer that rolled up MVP 3 times... he's managed to roll doubles, and so had Dodge in addition to his other standard skills. He's kinda hard to put to the turf. Because of the peasant situation, even at the end of the season I'm still running an 11 man roster... I'll probably pick up some spares for the playoffs.

BTW Kotobuki,
can I asky you: What made you want to play the Bretonnians?

I like them myself, and have played them quite a bit. But I also know that there are quite a few coaches who dislike the very concept of Bretonnians playing BB (or the thought of Bretonnians not being respresented by the human team).

Mostly, it's borne from how much I love my Bretonnian Army for WHFB. I really enjoyed playing that army, and like the dichotomy created by the Peasants and Knights.

If there hadn't been any actual decent (i.e. not way over or under powered) rules for Bretonnians around (fan-created as they may be) I'd've gladly used one of the official Team rules. I wasn't really keen on s2 players on a Bretonnian team, especially as the guys that were going to do most of the scoring hence the thought of using Elves.

I think, though, that the MBBL rules really capture the feeling that I love about the Bretonnians as a WHFB army and translate them well into Blood Bowl. And as much as people say it doesn't add anything different to the game... It certainly seems to me like it does.

That said, the team has been languishing a bit in the off season (lost my play-off game 5-0 to the Rats) as I work on some other projects. Hopefully I'll get some more done on them within the next month or so. If that happens, I'll be sure to update here.

Hi Kotobuki,
thanks for your reply :)
Coincidentally, you gave the exact same reason as this guy (Ashby, mid-thread):
http://forum.specialist-games.com/topic ... C_ID=13402

Crossover potential from WFB has always been my main reason for preferring the Bretonnians over other unofficial teams for becoming official.
I feel so vindicated :D
