Full report: http://underempire.net/index.php?showto ... &p=2696774

1-1 draw against madhobbit's Undead (1-0 in casualties)
1-2 loss against Candlejack's Undead (0-2 in casualties)
0-3 loss against Jordelfb's Dwarves (0-2 in casualties)
2-1 victory against Spencer_the_rover's Dwarves (2-1 in casualties)
1-1 draw against YLD's High Elves (2-1 in casualties)

Had a blast playing at the BUBBLE again and improved my score of last year (1/0/4 with 9-9 in TD's and 10-8 in casualties) at least, so after a bad tournament year that was 2006 I have finally achieved progression.

OK, first time playing undead and after 3 games I'm second :o I just knew I would not survive the second day. Still, the matches on sunday were close. Not much different from saturday, only my luck had changed. Made a couple of mistakes which turned into brilliant daring tactics on day 1 and into fatal flaws on day 2. When I saw the prizes I decided to go for a Zombling, my strategy worked. Ahem, right, yeah...

Had a lot of fun, playing orks and trying to improve my rating... :D ! 3 wins, 2 losses, 9th place. Had a lot of fun and even when I decided to play 'fast-bashy-orky" I somehow still used up a lot of time to finish some games

Honestly guys, I'll be faster next time ! Promise !! :P

A big thank-you to the organizers for making this tournament happening,

Thank You !!

The tourney was a blast, as always.. and unless i am getting really screwed timewise i will SO be there next year again..

not sure if someone is interessted, but here a quick rundown on my games (used Undead)

Round 1: Ray-Me - Chaos Dwarves

Managed to break his offence in half 1 and scored a pretty luck TD with a ghoul doing a 5+ pickup.. managed to hold him off for the rest of the half... had 8 vs 10 players in my offence in half 2 and somehow stalled it out

1-0 win

Round 2: Vinz D - Skaven

8 Turn grinding drive in half one, but a riot allowed the rats to equalize at the end of the half. Second half the rather lonely ball carrier close to my endzone got knocked down in the end and i could recover the ball after some struggling.. cageing.. and maining towards the endzone again

2-1 win

Round 3: El Condor - Skaven

The squishiness continues.. Could not stop him from scoring in two turns and then again resorted to the good old maiming and killing game, av and inj rolls going pretty much my way.. a few desperate last minute actions got the ball lose once in half 2 but i could pick it up again.. after my turn 16 one lino left on the pitch and only 4 came back so the 1-turn attempt failed

2-1 win

Round 4: Lucifer - Amazon

The toughest game i had imo, very good coaching as always from Geoff but his block dice rolled mostly pushes and i got rather lots of pows and both downs. He managed almost all of his dodges which he did a lot but failed the 2 most important ones when he could have a shot at the 1-1 equalizer, but both failed so i could swarm in and cover it up. And also i failed the pickup there it was safe enough and the game ended with a failed pickup by the amazons.

1-0 win

Round 4: Pianodan - Norse

Final round, table one.. the showdown. At the start it looked like i got his offence stopped pretty much. A sideline cage surrounded by almost my entire team and a few norse out already. I could have tried to crowdpush the ball carrier with 1 die blitz but since that would have meant to either take a blockless ghoul or my frenzy wight that would have been tied up to the sideline afterwards himself and not enough players left to ensure i can cover the ball i decided to cage up some more. Desperate meassures again, his ballcarrier took a 1 die blitz - skull, reroll to push, then doing the 5+ 4+ 3+ dodges and the last gfi to the endzone .. 0-1 DAMN!
But somehow that pissed off my team, from then on norse armour was not really present anymore and most players decided to take a hike to the dugout, a last attempt to block the way for my ballcarrier at least a bit failed horribly by double skull. 2 dice block with reroll to push open a hole worked and i scored. Second half, starting against 7 Norse with a full Undead team with 3 times MB. 2 players on the LoS were simply vaporized. The Norse put up a good fight nonetheless as it was to be expected from those nordish berserkers. But in the end only 1 Lino remained on the pitch and again 4 players came back for the very last turn. But 1-turn touchdowns with 5 norse is a no go, especially as the weather changed to pouring rain just then.
Kudos to Pianodan for taking this dice beating really well and being a great sport despite having been robbed a tournament win by a lucky git.

2-1 win

A big thank you to everyone who was there, had a great time. Special thanks to Dave and Redfang who did the organiizng stuff and made this weekend another very pleasant expirience.

Oh.. and i am SO looking forward to see how many NAF points i ripped off Lucifer *chuckle* ;-)

It was indeed a great Bubble!

Thanks to Dave and the guys for organising the event.

And mighty congrats to CJ on a fantastic win!

Great to see lots of familar faces and meet some new guys too.

Thanks in particular to the Belgian guy who recommended the Belgian bar by the canal - truly awesome. Between us on Sunday we managed a modest 25 of the nearly 200 beers on offer. Plans are however afoot to start early next year and complete the full set!

Some of our favourites so far:
-Witkap Stimulo
-Piraat
-Judas
-Satan's Gold
...just a shame they'd ran out of Moosehead!! :D

And big thumbs up for the idea of holding a tournament in a specialist darts-bar! Good to get a few legs in between matches even if we ended on double 1 nearly every time!!

Hope to see you all next year!

Cheers,
Brendan

*grins*... To be honest, I'm seriously considering to finish the Goblin team I'm working on for the tournaments in 2008, so perhaps it'll go easier next year. ;)
