Hello all

Post by Pil »

Hello all, I'm new to TBB, and since there's not much going on the bloodbowl.net forum, and the Dutch BB community is also rather limited, I registered here, and I hope this is the place where all the action happens 8)

I'm not very new to BB bot no oldtimer either. I started playing with 3rd edition (somewhere in 96 or so), we played some one-off games and then tried a league. I played Goblins but only ever played one game (which I lost). A few years later I moved to another city to study, and here we have built up a nice group of gamers. At some point people said they wanted to try out Blood Bowl, so we did a test game, and the rules still played as smoothly as ever. We decided to set up a league, we downloaded the new (LRB 5) rules and we got gaming. This time my Goblins managed to play six games (winning three of them), and then our league died out (they often do after a couple of weeks, there's just too many fun games to play ;)). Recently we started a new league, this time I chose a team with a bit more future than Goblins, and opted for my favourite Warhammer race: Lizardmen. By now my team is almost done (I'll post pictures when they're completely done) and I've played two games (a win against Skaven and a loss against High Elves), and that's about it.

Oh yeah, in the previous league I was a bit overwhelmed by the changes in the BLood Bowl community over the years, now I'm a bit less scared and more enthousiastic, so I hope I can make it to some (Dutch) tournaments as well (won't go to BUBBLE though). 8)

Welcome to TBB. This forum is pretty active, with lots of good discussions on BB in general. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to post them.

Thanks for the welcome, I noticed it's a lot more active than the other BB fora, which is good, I have no questions so far 8)

Hi Pil,
I think you'll be surprised if you'd know how many Dutch people play Blood Bowl. It's just that GWhobby.net doesn't have much to offer in terms of Blood Bowl, other then poking people constantly regarding the tournaments that take place... It would still be cool if you, Marijn, Rene and any others from Groningen would be able to make it to (for example) the Dutch Open.

It would be cool if you guys would be able to make it. In my opinion it's most certainly something you need to experience at least once, though it might be that you're caught with the Blood Bowl tournament virus and will do quite more then just the Dutch Open in the end... Trust me, I can tell from experience.
