And I agree no final is probably better. Means more players are in with a sniff going into the final round. Also removes the possibilty of overtime dragging the tournament out longer than is necessary, and gets the rid of the unpalatable prospect of a potential die roll to win the tourney.

Because it's played above a pub, therefore the 4th game on Saturday doesn't cut into valuable drinking time.... 7 games is good!
And no final, because more coaches in the running for the prize, keeps the outcome uncertain until those final valuable points are totalled. Players probably know whats required, if they are on those top few tables and are aware of the ongoing game scores around them...(IMO

i've done a few of these 4 games in a day thing and you know what, for all my moaning that 4 games in one day is too many (normally because for that 4th game i'm mentally drained) i say keep it at 7 games. it's the poo bowl (well really it's the mr stick) gimmick. it stands out from just another tourney because of this.
also have it as a no final thing. it makes it a lot closer and the sunday won't get dragged out too much with overtime or feel like a cheap win with a dice off.
if i would change something though it would be to make the actual game time slightly longer by about 5 or 10 minutes per game, if only for very selfish reasons so i can nip outside and fill my lungs up with tar at half time.
and there's no need to finish early on the sunday in my opinion. it's held in virtually the middle of the country and most coaches can be home within 2 or 3 hours after it's finished.
well that's what i think.

Put it this way, I will be there either way but if I had to vote, I would go for 7 and no final.
Reason - I keep on about the different tourneys. Sudbury Crew were one of the first to go with the 4 in a day format some while back and we did it easily. Now this year Poo and Carrot were both 7 and I enjoyed them both.
Gavin and Geoff are respected coaches, on and off the board, thier opinions count and should listened too. My counter to the 6 only is that it drifts into "just another tourney" which might be a bit OTT admittedly but it gets the point across that Poo bowl was different from anything else. That is important...keep the scene fresh but also some continuity.

Ok guys,
Thanks for the feedback. We are going to run with 7 games and no final. The event should run a lot slicker this time with the SCORE program to organize the results.
For those of you who have said you preferred 6 games up till this point. (Valen, Lucifer, Lowsman and Fire Oli) will receive a complimentary pint during game 4 on the Saturday.
Check out the thread on tournament postings.
