Last year was great fun, and the dice conspired to win me prizes  :o 8)

Now to prove it wasn't a complete fluke....

Update: Thrudbowl - will Thrud be there?

Post by Giraffe »

After some careful consideration, we at BRBBA think it would be fun if Thrud plays at one random table each round this year. As some of you may hate the idea of this happening to your tournament chances, we'll let you decide if you want to enter. There will be prizes / awards linked to this, especially for anyone who actually manages to KILL Thrud (yeah, AS IF!!!! Gauntlett thrown down, methinks).

If you wanna bit of Thrud in your tourney, simply put your name into "Thruds Helmet" at the start of the tournament. Each round we will draw out a name. If you "win" Thrud (and your opponent for that round is also in the draw), you may play starting with (but will probably not end up with) Thrud on your side for that Match (at no extra cost to your team rating). If your opponent is NOT in the hat, we'll swap him with another name from the hat (assuming there are enough who want to risk facing the might of Thrud!!)

I think we would probably leave Thrud as he was in LRB4, don't you think?

We at BRBBA haven't actually got a REALLY well painted Thrud figure yet, so if anyone can bring one to the tourney it would be one less thing for me to sort out - any volunteers?
keep the reservations coming in, www.thrudbowl.com http://www.thrudbowl.comremember!!

Quick question Frank...

It states in the rules pack that you are allowed to pick one skill before each game. Does this include game 1, so by the last game you should have 6 skills?

Cheers

Now I always thought English was a very plain and simple language. What could be wrong with the word before?

Ah, it means after!!!!

skills

Post by Giraffe »

Leon,
Yes, you start match one with a skill and end up with 6 skills at match six.

Dilemma:
Just had a cuddly bear donated for the auction, worried will get laughed off stage ....

Mind you, I suppose it might make a good 'sorry I buggered off and left you alone all weekend ' present for a bloodbowl widow...

Chainmail looking good (but taking too long!) hope to get both finished by 21/7...

keep spreading the word guys please, still plenty of places left...

Tom you have done a fab job on these.

Still lots to finalise! Anyone who was there last year knows I try to be really organised and hence was a major stress head. I didn't relax at all till it was all over and everyone was 110% happy with their tournament (we're going for 120% this year). You could always sent your assistant coach if you have one...?

We at BRBBA really want to build this event over the next couple of years, and are hoping to submit something for White Dwarf if we can convince my wife's uncle (who's a Professional photographer) to take enough piccies of Thrudbowl for us.

On the subject of pictures, if any of you have digital snappers please bring them to the event, it might be possible to get your piccy into White Dwarf! Also the more evidence we can show on next years website of how much fun this event is, the more chance we have of getting a bigger hall / better prizes & auction items / raising even more for the charity.

check out our newest auction requisition, LRP Axes and armour!!!!

Thrudtastic!!

Tom will these be available in hard boad (a la board like the box set) or will it be laminated sheets? Boards would amazing, and naturally people would pay.

There will be 10 of these pitches made in total - all properly made up like the real pitch. 1 is the winners pitch and will be on a crimson backed board. The remaining 9 will be standard black and will be sold for charity at the event. Frank can give you more info.

Hi everyone!

This may sound incredibly selfish, but is there any chance whatsover that this tourney can start at 11?

If not I'm afraid I wont be able to make it, as I cannot get out of working the Friday night and the earliest I can get to Bognar by train on the Saturday is 10:48.

Of course, I don't expect this to happen, but if it could I would really appreciate it as I am really looking forward to this one.

Thank you Frank.

Leon
