Well i've just heard, the final is between pippy and his lizzies, vs Pigstar and his zons.
Broken Lucifer is on table 4, stick is on table 2

Well I've just got back and wanted to say thanks for an excellent weekend's gaming. Played against six people I'd not faced before and thoroughly enjoyed every game (thanks to all my opponants, especially Maverick, who was a very good sport in the face of horrific rolls)
Finished up 6th, which is my highest placing in a tourney so I was more than happy.
Well done to the winners (and to leon, for beating me by a point, bah!) and to everyone who organise and helped run.
Unfortunately Game 07 as a whole was disappointing, pretty badly organised and run it seemed to me, but I only really went for the BB and that was top.

It's scary how close or results are across tourneys
Think results were:
1st Brendon (Lizzies)
2nd Ian stick (Woodies)
3rd Geoff (Chaos Dwarfs)
4rd Pigstar (Amazons)
5th Leon (8) ) (Orcs)
6th Mark (woodies)
To say that by round 2 or 3 there were about 6 elf teams on top 5 tables it's quite a diverse group of races.
Tritex Challenge was Brendon
Best painted was Mark's woodies
Stunty challenge went to Rob Newton (nice name) with Halflings
Most TD was Jordell
Most Cas...some cheating Bell-end
Wooden spoon- can't remember

Just a big thanks to Jason for powering through the all nighter and still providing a great tourney and great prizes.
Cheers to all my opponents, more lessons learned...
There was also a big discussion over who'd've done the gargoyle girl.

Really good tournament put on by Jason with lots of new faces.
Only real downer was the two hour queue to get in the event(despite pre booking!
) - nothing wrong with the BB though.

Just like to say a massive thank you to Jason for organising my first tourney
Greatly enjoyed every moment from my second ever game in a tourney against Lucifer's Chaos dwarves on the top table all the way to game six and three zombies
cheers Nippy
thanks to everyone for their advice (pigstar especially) and card games (ronnie) Hope to make a lot more tourneys in the future (although being made redundant before each one is probably not the way to do it
)
oh and P.S if you were not there keep an eye out for the pictures of the real life mascot well worth a view

Damn - just lost the first attempt at this..
Agree with the above, great tournament, but Game 07 as a whole was mediocre, the queue on Saturday being an utter fiasco. Jason and Dave provided a fantastic tournament though so all good once through the doors.
6 great opponents providing some good games. Managed to snatch anti-climax from the jaws of victory. 2nd place at the end of day one slipped to 4th after the draw with Geoff, somehow sneaking to 3rd after the next draw, costing myself and Stick and hope of finalhood, and then the slappings of all slappings from Leon to leave me in 10th - damn Orcs. Will have to try and make my attendance a little more regular, enjoyed it too much to leave it another 2 years, although the arrival of Slinky Jr may hinder that. Anyway thanks again to all involved.

Echoing others - great tournie, abysmal overall event management. Jason and Dave get the plaudits
, Game07 gets the fish-heads
.
6 great games against Mike, Maverick, Stikkins, Slinky, Pippy and Ronnie90210.
Grats to all the winners, I think they were all thoroughly deserved (even Pippy's!

Yeah just to add well done to all the winners. Bad luck to Pigstar who had the worst of the luck bar (lucifer wrote:Grats to all the winners, I think they were all thoroughly deserved (even Pippy's!)
Should also say big thanks to all my opponents for some great games. Can't believe I was lucky enough to come out on top in so many really close matches - vs. Ambush3 and Porritt in particular.
The voucher? Hmm, maybe I'll give Munchkin a go. Certainly going to buy a few new BB teams...

Like everyone else, I really enjoyed the blood bowl tournament this weekend. A big thank you to Jason and Dave for ensuring that everything ran smoothly (once we actually got started - Game 07 'the premier gaming event' was the most badly organised event I have ever attended
). I had 6 fun games and despite the fact that I lost 5, the goblins actually performed pretty well, with the luck only deserting them in game 5 vs Alasdair nad his humans. Enjoyed my matches with Richard (orcs), Paul/Slinky (chaos dwarves), Huan Quayle (dwarves), Nethrag (nurgle), Alasdair (humans) and Rob (halflings - the stunty challenge cup final). Although I only won 1, I managed more touchdowns and casualties than at the Waterbowl and only a moment of supreme self-inflicted twattitude prevented the gobbos holding on to a draw vs Nethrag and his nurgle.
Highlights:
- Winning 2-0 in game 1 to give me delusional hope of winning more games
- Watching Richard in game 1 have 3 players sent off for fouling in the first half (4 in total)
- My pogoer fouling off one of Rob's trees in the first half of our game
- My games vs Huan and Nethrag were excellent end to end affairs
-The fact that some of the 'paths of...' prizes were actuall won
- The draw producing a Stunty Cup final in round 6
Low lights
Nothing tourney related, but
- Game 07's organisation (and queuing for the best part of three hours to get in)
- Wightlord's wind on the Saturday morning. We were all trapped in the queue with nowhere to hide
Cheers
Leip

I think there may well be an echo in here, with what I'm about to say.
The organisation from the Game 07 organisers was criminal - the single security guy out front didn't know his arse from his elbow, and standing on stairs and barking indecipherable orders is not a remedy. They should be ashamed. Sometimes simple is best - why the hell wasnt everything printed beforehand? The online system had people in groups - so print out the group, bop it in an envelope and pick it up at reception AWAY from the people having to pay. Not rocket science, was it? I, along with a few others in the queue, got decidely grumpy when the "queue" descended into chaos, and then certain games were allowed to jump in front. Not on, by any stretch of the imagination. Poor all round and a horrible, horrible way to start the weekend. You're lucky the appearance of the scantily clad redhead quelled the horde at one point - a strategic masterstroke or dumb luck? I would suggest dumb luck.
However, the calmness, quiet authority and organisation that came with the Blood Bowl event should be applauded. Dave and Jason did an amazing job, and although I, like many others, felt very stressed going into the first game, it was unavoidable and by Game 2, things were almost back on track.
It should be noted that I am a wet behind the ears event virgin at this point, and have never entered a league outside me and a couple of mates organising things badly on Excel
Everyone was very welcoming, and aside from a couple of exceptions, very sporting indeed. Having my arse handed to me on a plate by Geoff in the opening game was almost a peasure - I learnt more in 2 hours of play than the previous six months. A couple of points I think it's worth making - I saw some really bad examples of time wasting around me and once during my game. The two hour rule only seems to encourage this - surely it isn't that hard to enforce four minute turns? Scrabble timers are a fiver - it wouldn't be awful to invest in one each, would it? I was lucky enough not to be involved, but I was next to, and had been prewarned about, one competitor who attempted to cheat, frankly. Not in the spirit and it was great to see someone take no mercy on him whatsoever and pound him into the dirt
As the only Norse Team, I felt I held up quite well for a first timer seemingly surrounded by veterans of the game - very proud of my 18th place finish
I met some very nice people indeed and I look forward to returning to another competition very soon to have my arse whipped again.
Thanks to Jason and Dave once more, and hi to Rob, Sam, Steve, Geoff, and the others (apologies for no names - the ol' brain is fried) I played.
