Some rule question from a Newbie

Post by Anonymous »

Hi all,
two friends and myself are beginner of Bloodbowl and have some rule questions, which we are not sure, what´s correct. I will explain it with a game situation.

Is it possible, to make all these things in turn?
It´s a human team.

The Thrower runs 2 fields, pick up the egg, runs 4 fields, make two times Go for it and throws the egg to the catcher.
The Catcher catched the egg and runs 8 fields away and 2 additional with Go for it and make a handoff, to an Blitzer in the adjacent field.
The Blitzer take the egg and runs his 7 fields and two additional with Go for it.

I´m not sure, if i can make in one turn a pass (short, long, long bomb, ...) and a handoff? And i´m not sure, if i can make on every action Go for it?

Is it correct, that a player, who stand up after a he was pushed to the ground, that he only can make a Blitz, run away ( -3 fields for Stand up) or assist an Block? He can´t make a Block himself.
Does he can pick up a ball and make a pass?

I think, this are the first questions, that we want to know. I hope you understand all of them.
Thanks in advance for this simple questions, but when i search for this words, i get so many answers!

Welcome to blood bowl!

Yes you may certainly perform both a pass and a handoff (by different players) in one turn.

Each player is allowed to "go for it" twice each turn.

A player who has stood up can not perform a block, unless they declare a blitz. Eg if you stand a player up and want to hit a player in an adjacent square you must use your blitz action.

Hope that helps.

Standing up is moving 3 squares, so you can't block with a player who's stood up. You can blitz though. You can also pass or hand off at the end of your movement (provided you pick up the ball first of course;) ).

The sequenceof passing and handing off is completely legal.

That sequence is perfectly legal (and some elf or skaven teams perform it on a regular basis)

Going For It: Every player of your team may opt to Go For It, so yes all the players where allowed to run like hell ;)

All you have to remember is, that only one Blitz, Pass, Handoff and Foul may be performedd by your TEAM in your turn. Since every PLAYER can only declare one action it's the normal flow of the game, to use the actions in 'Chains', to achive better results.

you can only Block when you are standing next to the enemy... sorry, opponent... you can block inbetween a movement once during the blitz or you can block it when you are standing up and having the skill jump up, but that´s later in the game... i think ^^
