Howdy,
I'm new to blood bowl and have started a regular elf team.
I have:
1 Thrower
2 Blitzers
2 Catchers
6 lineman
I have played one game against orks and my guys got absolutely smashed every drive on the LoS. Can some more experienced coaches give me advice about how to set up when receiving or kicking and how best to extricate myself from the LoS punch-fest.
Cheers,
BD

untill you pick up some skills its going to be a question of who is cannon fodder for a while, i was on the end of an orc thumping with my elves recently, i had a couple of journeymen for the game & they worked out well for this dilema. Hoping to roll some doubles on linemen to get guard an ST+ would be helpfull for the LoS boys

whilst WesleyTJ's strategies are for woodelves, the bulk will hold true for Pro Elves at least in the early stages of development.
now to be fair he admits this is not fully updated for LRB 5.0 yet but it is a good place to start.
also do a search in the "Tactics and Team dev." section on Elves & Tactics you'll find lots of threads.

Thanks for the link voyagers. The basic stuff seems like a good starting point that won't be too different under LRB5. The trick now is to not have my guys fail their 2+ dodges to get away from the LoS, and to make sure I'm getting 2 dice blocks when trying to open a gap in the opposition line.
