If you are a NAF member & have a number you get a $10.00 discount
Min amount to play for the 2 days & 7 games is $30.00

Where is it being held Toppy? Like other than just Calgary, like the actual address? Is it at a gaming store, a hall or is this a hotel? If it is a hotel, do we get a discount for booking there?

Itinerary?

I have about 6 guys over here and possibly more in B.C. seriously mulling this over so the sooner you can post this info here or on AbBBA's website the better. Some of us will definitely have to book the time off, compare prices between renting and gassing up a car or just going Westjet, book hotel rooms, ect.

Don't mean to bug you or anything, but time is of the essence, especially since you said the Stampeed is the following weekend. Thanks in advance.

I echo generaljason's queries regarding site, hotel info etc. I expect to be able to bring most, if not all, of my league members to the Spike (we had 10 coaches this past season including myself), so we are gonna need solid info ASAP, especially re: hotel space.

Unfortunately the space we had originally has fallen through earlier this month.

We are looking for a new space at present and going as quick as we can.
I am hopeful to have a final booking shortly but I can NOT confirm a space at this time.

Sorry if this is a problem but space in Calgary is at a premium & Iâ€™m not willing to spend $800+ per day to host this tournament as it will effect the prize giveaways that we have already on order.

As soon as I have a confirmation I will be posting the info.

Btw, is my group allowed to bring our 40mm boards? We're looking at possible 4 boards designed at this scale. Will this be a problem? By the time your tournament is going on we'll have authentic looking 40mm throwing metres as well to boot. Get back to me.

It will be on June 30 & July 1 in Calgary
It will be a 7 day Swiss Tourny over two days
it will be $30.00 in advance (by June 1/07) or $40.00 at door
First day will be registration @ 8:00 until 9:00 then 4 games
Second day will be 3 games starts @ 9:00 until roughly 5:00
Presentations roughly 5:30
Done NO LATER then 6:30 as people need to get back if they want.
The SPIKE goes to the top player with the most points
There will be bonus trophs for
Most TD's (end zone hog),
Most Cas (Gillotine Award),
Sportmanship,
Best Painted,
2nd (belonging to RustyCan each time he plays)

Raspberry Slushy Award (who takes the most cas)

As for where in Calgary - We might have to bite the bullet and pay a gross amount of money for space.

(hopefully not)
I promise to have a space locked down by March 8/2007 and posted here the following day.

I hope this helps get your guys organized. I understand that it takes time to things booked off & in to.

Same sentiments here! Hopefully we can bring 7 or 8 players, there's certainly interest! So at least the same 6 as last year, plus one more for sure and possibly another...

The 2007 SPIKE Magazine Tournament will be held at:

Calgary Alberta, Canada
on June 30 & July 1st
(NOT AbBBA's Address)

For those coming from out of town, please contact Toppy for help with locating hotels. There are many in the surrounding area.
