It's been a couple of years...
Hello
The other day me and my friends started to talk about blood bowl. It has been a while since we did that the last time. About 8 years acctually.
The boards and the teams still lay around and we said that we should proxy a couple of games just to see if it's still fun.
I've downloaded the 5.0 rulebook and am now to choose a team.
We are 4 dudes and my opponents will surely choose some of these teams;
1. chaos, undead, orcs (other fighting team)
2. chaos, undead, orcs (other fighting team)
3. Not sure but probably a running and passing team
What should I go for?
And do you guys have a good tourney version for us "old beginners"?

There are example starting rosters in the Tactics and Team Development Forum, and also skill choices information. Look at the Stickies. A bit of LRB5 info, and lots of LRB4 info. For the most part, the LRB4 information is still pretty-much accurate, and a good baseline to start.
In that same Forum and the Skills and Traits Queries Forum, there are lots of discussions on the new skills and team development with LRB5.
As to which team to use, pick whatever you think you will have the most fun with. Since you have played before, the should pick-up the new dynamics quickly.
Note that the Halfings, Goblins, Ogres and Vampires are mostly fun teams that don't win that often. Every other team is more or less equal, with some better in early league play and some better in later league play.
Not sure what you mean by tourney version. There are tourneys around the world that you can find at the NAF site (www.thenaf.net), but I don't think that this is what you are looking for. If you are wondering on how to run a league, there are multiple threads about that here and there on www.talkbloodbowl.com. But it is wide-open, depending on the number of players, how many games you want to play, etc...
Welcome back, and have fun.

I also when looking thorugh the LRB5 feel like something is missing. All charts and stuff.
Where can I find some good charts?

I used to have a german shepard dog called Spliff (whenever she escaped in her great bid for freedom it was very funny to hear my mum shout after her:SPLIFF!... SPLIFF! come here) & that dumb question just insulted my dead dog's memory
TR is for working working out inducements a kind of handicap system.
Get a grown up to read the rule book for you & explain how it's calculated

thanks for your really helpful post McBlock.
I'm serious in my question as the rulebook only talks about team value.
And yes even though english isn't my first language I speak it fluent enough to understand a large proportion of business, literature and daily speech.
And also I've been a grown up for soon ten years.
TR IS for making out inducements... My question is what to calculate from?
Last time I played it was simply every costs, money and SPP on top. Same now?

There is no TR anymore. Just TV which is calculated as stated in the rulebook. Inducements are the difference in TV.sgtspiff wrote:thanks for your really helpful post McBlock.![]()

@sgtspiff
just ignore him
- most people around here are nice
!
Regarding your question: Team Value (TV) now replaces Team Rating (TR). The idea was to have a better reflection of the real strength of a team (as TV increases more for doubles and stat increases whereas TR just counted the SPP). And instead of rolling on a handicap table the underdog (i.e. the team with lower TV) now can buy inducements corresponding to difference in TV.
Cheers

Many apolagies for any unintended offense sgtspiff I would have qualified my post more given time but had to rush out to get the kid from school when realizing the time.
However I was just joking bud & did not even realize you where from Sweden at the time as your English is excellent.
Please convey my thanks to the nation that gave Henke to the world & Celtic for 7 years. (Thank God he didn't join man u till after the group stages)
Also excuse me for the TV / TR debacle just thought you ment the former.
Best regards mcblock.
