Sorry, I think you missed the point. I am an admin.

It's a strane problem, as some people can happily change their avatar whenever they like (Tritex), some struggle but manage eventually (myself) and others just get no joy at all.

In the main I use:
www.deviantart.com
click properties on the image you want to use - copy the address and paste it in the 'link to off site Avatar in your profile. Hopefully that will help! Good luck!

The avatar uploading wouldn't work for me either. However, I just tried the photobucket method and it seems to work just fine.

Just seen you said yahoo photos. That doesn't seem to work, nor photos on MSN Groups (or whatever it's called). Haven't tried Google Photos yet.
Photobucket or Imageshack seem to be the best options.
