Don't you get a completion for making a hand-off?

No. Only accurate passes caught by a team mate get SPPs. LRB 1.3 pp 39.

Accurate throw give you spp if the catch is well done
Hand off is an accurate pass (meaning that you get the +1 bonus) but you dont receive any spp for a Hand off.

This is quite clearly a reference to the +1 modifier to catch, and not a general statement about hand offs. You are right that no where does it state you must perform a pass action to get the SPP for a completion. In fact an earlier sentence in the same section refers to hand offs as a "type of very short pass."

The handoff rules are badly written (see the number of queries theat come up over it), but, IMO, the intent of rules are fairly clear and completions should only be awarded for pass actions.

Hand-offs to not award SPPs. You get SPPs for rolling dice to complete an accurate pass that is caught by one of your teammates. Handing off doesn't require a Pass roll so no SPPs. Its not verbatim in the LRB, but it is most definitely correct.

Hi guys !

Just wondering : is it correct to take the player that has the ball, move him, and then throw your pass, I mean not saying : "This guy will pass" prior to doing your move ? I believe not.

We play that you can "declare" your pass after your move is completed, but since I want to take part in tournaments sometime in a "near" future, I want to know the correct ruling.

Both statements that actually mean, if strictly interpreted, that a successful hand-off results in a completion.

They're badly written if a hand-off does not result in a complete pass. It's possible that the LRB is wrong, and that you don't get a completion for a hand-off action, but it makes more sense to me if it does give completions.

If Urg the goblin takes an unnecessary risk and passes the ball to someone he could just run up to and hand the ball, he suddenly gets better at the game? Why?

Yes, we know that the wording can be confusing...but this has been covered both in the FAQ and in other threads.

Right the bottom line is you do not get a spp for the completion of a hand off. There is an extra roll required in the pass action compared to the hand off action, hence why there is spp on offer.

Thats how it works, the rulebook just needs clearing up on the matter, there are bits of rules all over the place and it can often be confusing.
